I'm still trying to figure out why him being Paul Hackett's son has to mean doon and gloom. Do people think he will have his old man on speaker phone asking for play call while he's up in the booth? Jesus this fucking fan base.
I can’t believe all you gullible fools are falling for JDs major distraction. Hackett WAS hired to attract a solid reliable veteran… but while you fools are drooling over AR, JD is going to reach out and sign the real prize….. Blake MF Bortles
Hackett didn't design the offense the Pack ran. I really don't see this as an upgrade over MLF. If we trade for Rodgers it will set us back years.
Some of them really jump off the deep end with everything lol. I get the trauma but damn this is kinda crazy. They are acting like we fired someone with lots of experience for someone with none lol. And he did well in GB, Jax and Buffalo that’s 3 diff teams. All they can think of last year and horrible Wilson
I wasn't but now I'm aboard the Rodgers train cause Hackett has done terrible with every QB except Rodgers (and thats like coaching Michael Jordan, hand him the ball and you are a good coach)
The article I read says he was the reason they had the highest RZ percentage and it dropped when he left so he did something
I couldn't care less who is dad is, to be honest, I couldn't care all that much who the OC is - the only thing that really matters is who the QB for the next 5-10 years is going to be as that's the kind of time frame you need to be thinking about in order to get a SB - unless you are a quality team in every respect other than QB and you manage to land a QB that you can squeeze at least one quality year from (like Brady to the Bucs or Stafford to the Rams) - the question is going to be can we do that with Rodgers or is he an entirely spent force?
This guy ran the worst offense in the league with Russell Wilson! IMO this is another example of the NYJ thinking they're smarter than everyone else--this team is a tragedy worthy of ancient Greece playwrites.
Hackett took the Jaguars to the AFC Championship Game with Blake Bortles and the Packers to the NFC Championship Game with Aaron Rodgers. Not sure how fans can dislike that. He has had success before.
Is it not more likely that: Rodgers got a big worse and they lost Davante Adams much more than its because Hackett left
Hackett was fired from Jacksonville for poor performance. In Green Bay he didn't call the plays and the QB was Aaron Rodgers in his prime
Why not find out? Or we can sign some other middling QB and hope for the 7 seed every year. Let's stop hitting lead off and swing for the fences for once. Won't cost that much, can't see why it's not worth a try.
His dad was actually one of the better OC's the Jets have had over the last 30 years or so. 4 years as OC and the Jets made the playoffs 3 times despite the starting QB being hurt for a large part of the last two seasons. Of course we were desperate for Peyton or Marino or Brady so we piled on him and after he was fired the Jets just blew chunks for several years. Same reasons as when he was here but still when he was here the offense was coherent enough to push through the problems. 2004 - Chad was hurt most of the season and yet we made the playoffs and won a game because Hackett chose to have the offense go 30th in pass attempts and 3rd in runs.
the Jags had one good year when Fournette played great - the two years either side the offense ranked 25th and 27th and getting to the NFC Championship game with a healthy Aaron Rodgers is not much of a flex.
