Exactly. The DT/LB combination is one to build a championship D around. If we can get a big NT in here, these two will be in top form and there's no telling what our D can do....

On the offensive side of the ball the OL needs a leader whom we can build around. Whether or not that guy is on the team as of now I have no idea. We also need to build around a great leader of a QB. Once more, whether or not he is on the roster now is unknown..

Miller might be good but saying he will be because of hits is dumb. Big deal if a corner hits hard, what is important is how he covers receivers.

When did I say he would be good just from his big hits? Oh wait...you just made that up.

But saying a poster is "dumb" because he points out that Miller is a solid hitter isnt dumb thought huh?.

I prefer DB's that have good writing skills.

    Vilma
    Pougha
    Jones
    JMiller
    Rhodes

We will need all of these guys to step it up..Jones, Pougha, Miller and Rhodes have big upsides...will they be able to handel the pressure? Will the coaching staff put them in a position to win? Will they stay heathy? They have the raw talent....CANT WAIT

Pretty common theme in Miller...I totally agree.

Miller (his kick return ability alone makes him worth watching this year)

Roberston (Put up or shut up..make the interior your own.)

Ellis (see Roberston...but lets see if he remembers where the qb is.)

Vilma (Nice stats...lets see now with a new defensive system if you can dominate a game).

The entire offensive line (will determine if Chad can comeback..if we have a future running back...and if the new regime is going in the right direction).

    Honarable mention:
Rhodes (Has the tools...the ball hawking skills...size...a possible true catch..lets see it this year)

This is year 1 of a new team. We currently have 1 player to build around, Vilma. There isn't another player on the team who should be guaranteed a spot on this team in 06 and beyond without proving it by showing superior play, attitude and the ability to develop.

RAY LEWIS was a lot smaller a few years ago and was more effective. But he had a widebody Dt protecting him. Vilma doesn't and still made a tremendous amount of tackles. IMO , he will keep on developing! The question was to name 5 players to build the team around! AS SUCH, everyone has the right to their opinions! There is no right or wrong! It is up to the individuals to state what they feel. Therefore there is no need for telling people that they are wrong. In fact, the block of granite theory about MLBs went out the window a few years ago. SPEED is now the most important attribute as well as tackling ability!

OK then Arrington certainly qualifies since he is hulk + fast. If you think making most of your tackles 5 or more yards downfield is productive then you & I I guess have different standards as to what a productive player is.

I believe it was Death by Jets or jaywayne that did a study on Vilma's tackles on the old server that showed that it was pretty evenly split on Vilmas tackles behind or at the line of scrimmage and downfield.
And many of his downfield tackles were when he was in coverage on pass plays where he wouldnt be near the LOS anyway.
Question for you regarding Lavar. Would you regard Joe Gibbs as very good evaluator of talent?
If so, then why would he have demoted Lavar not just to backup but to 3rd string?
