Arrington over JV in a heartbeat a decent inside & outside LB a decent DBF that cover someone other then air a QB that is not noodle armed 7 does throw dying ducks a OL that can protect a QB & open holes for running plays a DL that can pressure/sack a QB & stop the run at or behindd the LOS Is that enough of a wish list?
I think the db part of your list is a pretty good one. Im expecting a lot from these guys this year. Its the one position that should improve the fastest. Unlike Herm, EM was a real DB coach. There are enough young kids back there (since Bradway drafted about 65 during a 5 year stretch) that some should shine and prosper.
He didnt ask for a wish list but what 5 current Jets or 2006 draft pick do you think the Jets could build around. Your answer would probably be the same though.
Moore, as in Brandon Moore?? Interesting pick, I think he has been nothing more than serviceable up to this point. Maybe he'll break out in the new offense...
DAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!! DONT DO IT BUDDY...JUST PUT THE GUN DOWN AND SLIDE IT OVER TO ME....SLOOOOWWLLLY...SO NOBODY GETS HURT.
Well he didnt say anything about RB, K & P so does that mean that he can tolerate Martin, Graham and Nugent?
Well now that you jogged my memory Graham (A Punter) appears to be a keeper. CM is really long, long in the tooth. Nugent has a weak leg if he cannot get the ball to the EZ on KOs.
Thanks but while you do live in NYJ dreamland what I posted is the real reality of the situation no matter how you choose to slice or dice it
Donnie Henderson was the DC and secondary genius. He developed Ed Reed, Chris McClaister and Will Demps for the Raves and Kerry Rhodes and Eric Coleman for the Jets. Only Justin Miller wasn't able to do much with one of the great secondary coaches in the NFL, perhaps validating the scouting reports pre draft that he might be uncoachable. No instincts and 2 pass defenses and 0 INT's in eight starts make him a bust for where he was drafted.. Just as I predicted. Mangini was the DC of the 25th ranked defense in the NFL last year. If he is so better as a secondary coach why were the Patriots ranked 31st in pass defense. Eric Mangini drew no interest from any other team in the NFl as a HC and he was hired because he was a close friend of Mike Tannenbaum.
Yeah definetly EM's job as a coach should be to develop your players. That's what a great coach can do. We need Coleman to become a leader and I see no reason why he can't take that role. He is already helping out Rhodes and I expect him to be a big time contributor to this defense. As for Miller he's got a DB coach that knows what he's doing. Hopefully he becomes a solid corner that can shutdown the other teams top WR.
