I went to bed with the Mets winning 1-0 in the 7th. I woke up to find they had another disgraceful loss.

The Mets are actually still in this. This is hilarious, I hope they can make noise.

The Mets are going to lose to the cocksmoker team again.

Yep, it happened. The Mets lost to the Cubs again. I no longer like the Mets. I am now an Oakland Athletics fan.

Awful. Some day as a Met fan I would like to watch real professional hitters.

The next big hit Wright gets would be the first in a longgggg time.

Makes me wonder..in a year where there will not be many "elite" batters available at the deadline , should the Mets make him available? He isnt really the face of the franchise anymore. And his average power that he once had is all but gone.

He could probably command a lot back.

How could he command a lot back if the Mets pathetic lineup would be better off having traded him? Anyway, there's not the slightest chance of him being traded.

He is still good and there are not many good 3Bs in the majors right now. The Mets would be trading Wright to get what- a 1B or outfielder? The Mets would then have to find a third baseman.

I don't see a real good reason to trade Wright.

The worst thing to happen to this franchise in a long time is the new philosphy of "hunting strikes". It makes them all tentative at the plate and opposing pitchers know this. Whoever came up with this dumbassed hitting philosphy should be fired or simply quit. It may work for other teams, but so far, all the evidence says its a disaster for the Mets.

After that HR by Wood both pitchers have the highest batting average and slugging % in their respective lineups tonight on the season, and they've played like 60 games.

Dont think Flores could be a serviceable 3B? Obv he wouldnt be Wright but he could be a guy thats hits .270 with 15 homers. Not horrible and its pretty much what were getting from Wright right now.

I just think Wright needs a change. Citi Field has killed his batting confidence and if a team like the Red Sox or Angels calls for him Id atleast be entertaining it if I was Sandy. Lets say LA offers CJ Cron for Wright straight up. I'd jump at that.

It might not be a popular choice among Mets fans to deal him but in the long run it could be very beneficial.

I think the Mets should listen to offers.

Thank goodness I am in Ohio and didn't have to even think about watching this team tonight.

Losing to the Cubs is pathetic.

I still want the Mets to merge with the Marlins. The NY-Miami Metlins would play 51 games in NY and 30 in Miami and would have complete assholes for owners.

Unreal how quickly a week can change an outlook..shows how bad the Phillies are.

Good thing they sent down D'Arnaud though..like he's the only weak link in that lineup.

15 losses recorded by the bullpen is pathetic. David wright is also the worst best player on any team in the league. The guy should not be making 17.5 a year

What are they supposed to do, he's been worse than Chris Young, both offensively and defensively who people are calling for to be cut. The fact that he's 25 and has shown no ability to hit at the ML level has to be a serious concern(I know 200 ABs blah blah, the guy is small for a catcher and always getting dinged up, which is another issue.)

Its just the wrong way to make a statement. If he goes down there for 2 weeks and hits .400 it doesnt mean that he's gonna come up and all of the sudden be productive. He isnt a burden in the lineup. The whole lineup is a burden. Id rather him face major league pitching.

The kid has hit at every level so its really only a matter of time before he hits with the Mets.

I don't think it's about making a statement, he needs to fix his swing/get his confidence back/whatever and they feel like like he's got a better chance of doing that in AAA. Also just because your team/lineup stinks doesn't mean that you get to keep your starting job that was handed to you as a rookie when you've been one of the worst players in the entire league this season.

Well of course it was handed to him. He was the centerpiece of a trade for a Cy Young winner.

Im just not a believer of sending a young player down to the minors again after he's seen regular at bats in the pros. Let him figure it out up here. Going to the minors didnt help Ike Davis. In my opinion it hurts a young players confidence more than it will help it.

The young players are one of the few things that have kept people somewhat interested in this team the last couple seasons..now we gotta see Recker and Teagarden? They should've atleast called up that Plawecki kid and see what he can do.
