I'm going to talk about it again, because I really can't stand when my point is taken completely wrong.

The problem yesterday wasn't Thomas Jones. The problem I expressed was that Jones could get more yards if he regularly fought for more. That's it.

I didn't point a finger at Jones and say "See? He's not helping us win!" All I'm saying is that he could get loads more yards if he would regularly fight for them.

As I said, given that it was an earlier than usual post, it was probably going to have some irrationality mixed in. I probably didn't make my point as clearly as I wanted, but it's irritating that a small point I made is being focused on.

There were distinct problems we saw with this team yesterday. As has been the case in the past few weeks, this thread is here to discuss these problems rationally. My apologies for helping send it off on a tangent.

I thought this post hit the nail right on the head. It's too bad the Jones discussion took away from your main points about the play calling. People don't want to see smash mouth football, even a day that calls for it.

Poor Poor Rex, there he was, looking down at his belly, just hoping that last kick wouldn't go through the uprights. But he knew. He knew he was going to lose to the Bills just as he knew his father had named him after the family dog. You could see from his eyes that he kind of got lost in the moment. In a moment he quickly thought of that jelly donut he left on his desk and how good it would taste, he wondered if he remembered to pull up his fly since he can't see under his belt. He hoped his shoes were tied because again he couldn't see past that big belly to check. Then he quickly came back, almost as fast as he zoned out. Yes he was glad that he had Mark Sanchez as the face of the organization because, well, hell, look at him and look at Rex.
I'm sure that Rex had the best of intentions when he came to New York (well, NJ but the Jets can't even call that home since they play in Giants Stadium). It's amazing almost how fast things can change. Looks like if Rex doesn't turn things around soon, his stay in New York may not be for as long as he hoped.

It's people such as yourself that make it a good thing I'm not a mod.

JWWS, thanks. That's where I really wish the conversation would have moved towards. I criticized TB's style, not performance.

The real story is this coaching staff not putting this team in a position to win. For the most part I can accept from a rookie HC, but not from an OC who knows better, or at least should.

One thing that really pisses me off is how Rex stated he probably should have pulled Sanchez. First off he's our franchise. There is no reason to pull him. This is a learning opportunity and you made this bed when you made him a starter out the gate. Also, why would you publicly call out a rookie QB line that? Do you WANT to break his spirit.

The coaching has to get better. Quickly. Both on and off the Sunday field.

I thought J was one of the FEW Jets that played hard all game long. In OT, TJ was pounding it as hard as he could, as seen on what we all thought was the game-clinching run tot he 10 yard line in OT. He won the rushing title last year. He has the 2nd most yards of any back in the NFL the last 5 years or whatever the stat is. The anti-Jones stuff is ridiculous guys. RIDICULOUS. Give him the ball 23 times a game and 9 out of 10 times his numbers are very, very good. Look it up people. When he has a good game its all because of the line but when he has a bad game its all on him for some of you guys. Enough. We have soooo many other problems that TJ should NOT be mentioned....ESPECIALLY YESTERDAY.

A single game Jets record ≠ elite status. Jones could get more YPC if he tried.

Somebody had a post last page or so about no team having three backs per game. The Giants did it quite well a year or two ago.
