He's by far the most negative poster on the board. He never has anything positive to say about this team. He's entitled to his opinion, but the incessant pessimism for all facets of this season is just kind of strange. He can't even look at this play and see what was right.
While I agree to a certain extent, that's not the point. The calls in the Jax game were actually 100x worse than this call, but we were never in that game. This call ended the game. You only get 16 games. This one should have gone to overtime, regardless of how bad BOTH teams played.
You just totally contradicted yourself. You say "most likely" would land out of bounds. Yet the rule is if he has any chance of coming down in bounds and is pushed out. Then it is ruled a touchdown. So by saying "most likely" you dont 100% agree he would have come down out of bounds. Which means its a TD. And again, which makes it a very bad call.
one week later: With the Chiefs leading the Rams 24-17, the Mike Carey crew called a bogus offensive pass interference penalty on Isaac Bruce on a 3rd down play. Bruce had caught the pass good for a first down on a play where he was interfered with by Ty Law. The Rams were driving for the game-tying touchdown in Chiefs territory. The bogus call was a key moment in the game and effectively ended any potential Rams comeback.
