Seems like the agent cost him money. Even reworked, his contract was gonna pay him $8mil this year. It seems like there is no way he's gonna get that as a FA.

He is young and can rush the passer.......if the Jets can get him at a reasonable price they should definitely do it. He will be an asset not only short term but long term as well.

Could have a pass rusher at #9, Dumervil, Coples and Wilk locked up and in their prime for a long time.....sounds good to me if the numbers work!

He gets almost 5 from the Broncos, plus whatever he signs for.

Edit- actually that might just be a cap hit on already paid bonus money that was spread out for cap purposes. It is unclear.

Raven's, Pat's, and Titan's are currently competing for him.

I don't think the Raven's have cap space and he probably wants to play for a contender. NE has cap space and has so far held off on signing either Freeney or Abraham, perhaps waiting on the Dumervil situation?

I see NE as a place where he has a lot of potential to land and he would probably replace Ninko as the starter opposite Jones.

He's not young. He's 29. There is probably no way he gets more than a 3-year deal at this point and probably not for anything like $8M a year.

Most fans don't understand aging in pro sports and in particular in the NFL. 29 is the year most players start to go over the hill in the NFL. For RB's it's the end most of the time but for other positions aside from QB it's the beginning of the end.

There are a few players in each generation who keep going strongly past 30 but only a few.

Wow didn't realize he is already 29......I thought they drafted him within the last 3-4 years along with Miller.....I stand corrected, thought he was mid 20s

We have to look at this as 3 years down the road. This team isn't going to compete until, at least then, and he'll be almost 32 at that time.
I changed my mind, I'm out.

If the Jets had something like this happen to them, everyone would have a group circle jerk calling us a circus and an embarrassment to the NFL.

The Broncos responded to this as strongly as they did because they do have a PR problem at this point due to the Tebow effect. They're very much on edge in that front office about things that could draw criticism.

This was on Dumervil's agent and not the Broncos. For them, it's just as well. They'll get freeney on alot cheaper $$.

First thing I thought of was the Vikings missing their draft pick a few years ago. It was such a surreal moment happening live before our eyes.

The Miami Herald's Barry Jackson reports Elvis Dumervil's agent intends to call the Dolphins because the DE would like to play for Miami.
