Moss seemed very keen on going back to the board...

    Look at post #16.

"We couldn't do anything in the second half, we didn't do anything on third down and couldn't gain anything on first or second down. We couldn't run it, we couldn't throw it. We just sucked."

You may or may not be implying here that Moss does not yet have the resume to end up in the Hall of Fame, but I would consider him a lock. Revis naturally has a ways to go, but Moss has done more than enough.

A friend of mine interviewed him after his college team (Marshall) won a game. He said he might have been the dumbest guy in America. He just kept saying over and over some derivative of "We were just coming out to show that we could come out and play. We played so everyone would know that we came out and showed out". Most pointless interview ever. After the interview, one thing was clear. Randy Moss came out to show out......... I think.

Moss impressed me with the way he handled himself yesterday. I would have expected him to spike the ball in Revis's face after all the smack talk last year.

THIS! All interesting though. I wonder if he's getting torn apart in NE for short arming some of those passes.

No, I'm pretty much in agreement with you. I threw the disclaimer in becaue Revis isn't there yet, but I'd say Moss is even if he never plays another game. I'm not a big stat guy, but watching his whole career I'd have to say he's in.

Getting to watch these guys go at it twice a year while Moss still has it is a real treat, although it's nerve-wracking while we're watching it. To me it's one of the great one-on-one match-ups in the NFL going on right now. Hopefully we get to see it again in December for a full game.

Always liked Moss. Greater than Rice, IMO.

Moss is not a better WR than Jerry Rice (imo). But one thing that has been interesting is to see Moss mature. when he first came into the league out of marshall he had some off field immaturity issues and even when he was with the vikes early in his career he was known for slacking on plays and also he had some minor off field issues w/cops and he had a problem w/putting a foot in his mouth. etc.

Its pretty good to see that he has grown up and become a responsible adult who is smart and knows how to say the right things.

I thought his comments were excellent.

But he's no Jerry Rice imho.

Moss is just trying to get off-the-field endorsements.

I remember that game very well and actually recognized it from your avatar. I had money on the Colts in the game.

It's too bad I haven't been able to appreciate any of his success since he left Minny.

Better than Jerry Rice?...ummm come on guys lets not get silly.
Have to give him all the credit in the world the way he responded to first of all the slouch thing, and secondly showing humility about his TD catch here.
Despite my love for him, Revis looked a bit foolish pulling up after the touchdown - and I have no doubt that it was genuine but he has been pretty harsh on Moss in recent times.
Owensa slouch? Defo. Moss? Not so much for me

I think he had more talent than Rice.

Rice had a great team, great QB, and worked really hard (not to say he didn't have any talent).

Moss got drafted, relied on his physical gifts (which still allowed him to put up huge numbers), was on a good team which then had QB issues and went to a horrible team with QB issues and then to the Pats.

It's all theoretical, so it doesn't matter, but it's hard to not wonder even if he had Rice's work ethic if he could end up beating all of Rice's numbers just for the shear fact of QB and team issues Moss faced over Rice.

I also hate what Rice and Smith did. They both basically held on for dear life to break previous records and/or push their own records incredibly far out of reach.

I hope someone easily beats their numbers some day for the fact of Smith just continuing to try to hang on so he could beat Payton's number and Rice for hanging on for life to try to push his numbers out of reach. Also, Rice for all that's said about him (especially when how most good WR now of days are talked about), I find him to fit right into the whole WR "diva" mold based just off of listening to him and the way he acts.

Also, Moss will get in the Hall of Fame. However, whoever said something about Revis and Canton, what are you smoking? That's even worse than one great year and wanting a brand new, record breaking contract while you still have multiple years left on the current contract. Quite frankly, no one knows if he'll for sure have multiple season's playing at last years level or close to that level. And I can easily state one thing, if he continues to have hold out issues and contract squabbles, he will not be anywhere near what he was last year nor will he be thought of very well (which would also hurt chances of making it in). Basically if he really cares about how good he is and how people will view his play, he'll show up and work his tail off for the next decade with zero holdouts to even get a shot at being able to play at a high enough level year in and out to get a chance to crack the Hall of Fame.

If Kurt Warner sparks Hall of Fame debate (about whether he'll get in), the thought of Revis and the Hall at this point is absolutely ridiculous.
