As I said his exposure to a misdemeanor charge would obviously depend on his being charged with it. If for whatever reason he is not, so be it. But I am not clear here on whether the NFL feels in such a case it would be bound by that decision. In other words if the known facts include that he was going so much faster than the speed limit to be in the misdemeanor range, they might be able to hold that against him in disciplining him under the conduct policy. I do agree that I don't think players are exposed under the conduct policy for a mere moving violation. As they should not be. The question here is whether the NFL is bound by no misdemeanor charge being filed. I would tend to think they would NOT be so bound. Btw my recollection is that going more than a certain number over the speed limit becomes a misdemeanor under the theory that it is a form of reckless driving, which is a misdemeanor. Was he charged with child endangerment? That btw is a more fluid kind of exposure. It's simple math whether you go enough over the speed limit to merit a misdemeanor charge. Child endangerment is more complicated. Having said that, yes I could see a charge of that sticking here.
If they do that and he doesn't fail a drug test then they should do the same thing to Marshall for his tweet.
Here's the video; you can characterize it however you like. At the 24 second mark, she hits him in the face with her left elbow; he immediately slaps her. Then he backs up into the opposite corner of the elevator to create distance. She moves towards him, rapidly, while clenching her left fist. She is clearly angry. As she closes the distance, he hits her once - knocking her out. That's classic legal self-defense. He is under no obligation to let her hit him (or even take a swing at him) before protecting himself.
First size doesn't mean shit. Second doesn't matter how big you are if a guy pulls a gun or knife on you size won't help that.
I didnt say it meant shit. I said it was legal for him to have it in the car. You are assuming facts not in evidence to say the gun could "easily" slide back as you said. You know this how? All you nervous nellies need to stop fantasizing and overrreaching. Richardson has some issues, as I have said and covered, but he's not satan or something like that.
This is getting annoying but I'll try again. 1) The league can do whatever they feel like doing. I've said this about 1200 times now. It's not going to matter. It doesn't mean the suspension or whatever fine they come up with will stick. If they have a case, it will. Even then it might be reduced. But if they don't I highly doubt they'll be able to push this trough. Unless you can point to that line in the CBA deal that states that. 2) Again, it's a gray area that if the league decides to fine him for will be challenged by the NFLPA or Sheldon himself. 2) See 1). 3) Nobody is arguing that. He was charged for speeding and running a red light, and resisting arrest (not actually fighting the arrest/cop but trying to get away while in his car. Stop with the gun or drugs bullcrap. 4) I'm sorry if the facts upset you but this is the reality. Next time you have your facts straight before you call somebody else out on it.
No, it's not defending him. I don't think anyone is in position to actually defend Sheldon for his actions. He prob has the bare minimum in terms of regard for human life. Sheldon has to be smarter. He also needs help. I don't think I am going too far at all. He needs to set a better example for the youth in this country, especially after his comments about police brutality. Talk the talk, walk the walk. It wasn't his responsibility to be an example, but after he made comments about police brutality and other things - he made it his responsibility.
Why do you hate women so much that you treat them differently from men and believe that they are incapable of controlling their own behavior in a responsible fashion without becoming unnecessarily aggressive and violent?
Seems like there will be a plea deal so he'll miss jail time. NFL might hand him another punishment once he pleads guilty, but I would think he would want to get past this as fast as he can.
bowles should hold a press conference and say " what plane?" . seriously, sheldon deserves a year suspension, minimum. and, on a non-pay list. woody can then hold a press conference blasting goddell for overreacting......
So if your gf or wife was upset with you and was hitting you, you would punch her in the face and knock her out and be perfectly OK with it? Even though you outweighed her by 80 lbs and could probably bench 400 lbs? You're telling me you find it reasonable to punch her in the face?
unbelievable this guy gives a press conference about not getting in any more trouble ...... less than an hour later this shit come out??? I mean WHAT THE FUCK!!!!! did he think nobody would notice this or be reported ?? at this point keep him coz he`s still under his rookie contract or look to move him for draft picks ,NO WAY DOES HE GET BIG MONEY NOW... let him be some one else`s problem !!!!
The timing was really strange. It's almost like somebody was watching to see what Richardson did with the spotlight at the start of camp and then reacted off of that.
Once again, referring to your post that I clearly responded to.... 1)You said "Again, you can't punish somebody for not breaking the law." I responded "The league does not need a case to render discipline ( you can't punish somebody for breaking the law!) Yes they can." You responded along the lines that maybe it wouldn't stick. You said nothing to refute that the league can't hand down discipline under the personal conduct policy. 2) I said the league could extend the current suspension, you argued " if the league decides to fine him for will be challenged by the NFLPA or Sheldon himself." So you did not dispute the league couldn't extend the current suspension. 2) (okay, should have been 2a) I stated "The league can render discipline under their personal conduct policy, without the player having been arrested or charged (see Roethlisberger)". You repsonded see 1. Same recourse. 3) I said "Sheldon was arrested and charged however". You responded "He was charged for speeding and running a red light, and resisting arrest (not actually fighting the arrest/cop but trying to get away while in his car. Stop with the gun or drugs bullcrap" While i touched upon the drug aspect as related, I made no mention of the gun. Hard to call the speculation about the drug stuff bull crap when when are discussing someone under a drug suspension, but as you will. 4)I posted a link saying he was charged for endangering a child, you posted and older link where someone speculated he would be not. Present tense vs. past tense. If you are willing to provide actual facts that contradict what I've been saying all along, I am more than happy to consider them. Otherwise, I'm content to agree that we disagree.
