Yep. Lots of lack of football knowledge shown here by the Schotty Haters who want to hang the outcome of this play on him.

    From the NYTimes this morning:

    EXTRA POINTS

The offensive consultant Tom Moore, who has advised the Jets mostly from his South Carolina home, will remain with the team through the end of the season. Moore, 73, who attended Sunday’s game at Washington, said his role has not changed — “strictly observing” — and Rex Ryan dismissed the notion that Moore’s increased presence had usurped some of Brian Schottenheimer’s authority as “completely false.”

    Poor Schotty Haters.

One more thing, a quote from Sanchez.

The Jets now have the best red zone percentage in football, a huge point of contention for the team last year.

“That’s been one of the big things we’ve been trying to emphasize and push. It was a huge emphasis in training camp and its really helped us this season.

Picking plays that we really like in the red zone that I really like, that I’m really comfortable with. (Offensive coordinator) Brian Schottenheimer, (quarterbacks coach Matt) Cavanaugh do a great job of putting these game plans together in the red zone. That, and the trick is just to get down there a few more times and just keep up with the same success."

    Rough day for Schotty Haters.

Its funny how bad we were in the Red zone and completely turned that around. If were able to do last year in the red zone what we have this year the AFCCG might have been very different.

Passing from that 2 WR I formation leaves 8 on the line of scrimmage, and 4 DB's covering 2 Wr's.

Hardly. Posting that as a defense of Schotty is delusional.

They had to bring in one of the Top Coaches in the game to coach Schotty up, which makes it a bad day for the SDF.

Look, as I said on the other thread, the best way for all of this to work out, is for Schotty to get coached up...

But to deny it's happening, right in front of your eyes?

There's no reason Moore's increased presence has to be a shot at Schotty. Moore has been coaching football longer than Schotty has been alive. He's a great resource for the team and for Schotty to have around.

And if you're a Jets fan, you want Schotty to get better, more than you want him to be gone.

That's what's best for Sanchez. (and Rex...)

What happens if the offense stays the same?

If only it could..in Rex's 3 years it has gone from 20th to 11th to now 26th....not a ringing endorsement for your OC.

    Clearly it hasn't already....

Two things are happening...Not only is the offense as a whole learning (to read the quotes, anyway)...but, more importantly...

Rex, is learning about the other side of the ball from an offensive mindset....

Becoming a more complete Head Coach.

Rex wants us to be a ground and pound team. We run on 1st down more often then not anyway. Keller is always in on first down as well thats 3 receiving targets on a down where we should be running anyway.

I believe Mr. Sanchez said it best - "Shotty, you suck". End quote.

What the fuck kind of comparison is that. Rex says something isn't true is completely different then I think I can make someone play well.

Here's the other thing with that play - ALL 5 RECIEVERS ARE SHORT OF THE FIRST DOWN MARKER.

    It's about scoring not yards.

    2009: 20 PPG
    2010: 21 PPG
    2011: 22 PPG

Points are important but not the only thing. Having and effecient offense that controls the ball is extremely important for things like field position, giving the defense a breather, and keeping high powered offenses off the field. The only way to do that is to gain yards.
