It’s no doubt ZW has to step up and play better. But he hasn’t costs us games yet with his mistakes or interceptions. I too don’t want to hear he doesn’t have weapons, or OL. He has to continue to move the chains, and make less mistakes. Hopefully He will get better because we re found to need it.
I can’t believe people are complaining about the first few play calls On first down, Zack had TWO wide open targets … a TE underneath for a 6-8 yards gain and the receiver he air mailed by about 10 feet On third down, GW was wide open and would have easily shook the closest defender for a first. Zack didn’t look his way. MiLF can’t make the reads for Zack. Wilson has to get better pre-snap and move on quickly if his initial read isn’t open. MiLF is providing good options but Zack is too often choosing the wrong ones.
As soon as he threw that first ball --was it only 10 feet over the receivers head?--I knew we were fucked. NFL QB's just don't miss by that much unless someone is draped on him. The confusing thing is how the hell that happened? The announcers said he was too amped--I think thats BS. Just terrible fundamentals.
Again, the receiver was held and knocked down (with no PI). I think the route he was supposed to run was longer and Zach was throwing to that. At least that's what it looked like to me.
I always thought that Geno got a bad rap in this city. Mehta in the News was way over the top in criticism. Of course, the other media types went along. Glad to see he is doing well.
TBH, I can't say for certain that's what happened, but it seems very plausible. While Zach at times has some accuracy issues he doesn't usually miss by that much when he has time to throw, which he did.
Wilson screwed up second down so much I don't know what was where. First down, as mentioned above, there was at least one guy underneath and third down underneath is where he tried to throw but the ball apparently had other ideas.
Second down was where a defender came running free straight at him. He evaded him and runs out of bounds saving a sack.
No. That may be what he should have done but instead he tried to throw the ball before he went out and got a lineman penalized for ineligible downfield. Result: Minus five yards.
Looks like the Pats are going to lose. Zappe will get plenty of garbage time stats. So fantasy guys and posters can say how much better he is than Zach. When they start giving the victory to the QB who had the best rating instead of the team that scores the most points we can worry.
He's not as good as Breece Hall and had his knees drained last week. Troll better because this is sad.
Exactly the play I'm talking about. The guy doesn't even know how to get out of bounds without causing a problem.
Wrong play, Chief. No penalty on that play. The one you are thinking of was a 3rd down play and the one penalty was declined because he didn't pick up the 1st.
No, "Chief," you are wrong. That sometimes happens when instead of watching a game you rely on highly edited video. Didn't you even notice the video you incorrectly think proves your point was a video of PASS plays? Here, from NFL.com are the first three plays of the game: Kickoff B.McManus kicks 65 yards from DEN 35 to end zone, Touchback. Kickoff from DEN 35 Pass Incomplete (15:00) (Shotgun) Z.Wilson pass incomplete deep right to T.Conklin. 1st & 10 at NYJ 25 Pass Incomplete (14:55) Z.Wilson pass incomplete short right. Penalty on NYJ-N.Herbig, Ineligible Downfield Pass, declined. 2nd & 10 at NYJ 25 You may note that this capsule confirms everything I've said about the second down PASS play on the first drive.
