I don't know how he rooked Anaheim so badly. That was easily the best move of this offseason by anyone. Dumped what? 80 million bucks off the books over the next 4 years? Incredible. I didn't like the League move at the time, as I was a big fan of his, but it worked out well for TO. League had a very good year tho. His K rate dropped but everything else did also. Good trade for both teams, I think.
League has a cannon for an arm...but accuracy like Ricky Wildthing Vaughn sans his coke-bottle glasses. I'm glad we got rid of him.
Yeah, but Morrow was a ridiculously highly-touted prospect (fifth overall pick) until Seattle jerked him around even more than the Yanks did with Joba. League might have a chance to be really good as a reliever, but Morrow has a chance to be a front-line starter. He was only 25 last year, in his first full season as a starter, and his BB/9 was down significantly with a K/9 of 10.9 as a starter. (!!!) That's sick.
Looks like their old jerseys from the Catfish Hunter days, I dig it. I've always liked their jerseys.
Contract talks between the Cardinals and Albert Pujols are headed in the wrong direction, major league sources tell Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. The clock is ticking as there are less than two weeks until the first baseman’s self-imposed deadline for an agreement. The Cards' position players report to Spring Training on February 18th. Even though talks between the two sides are fluid, the Cardinals are balking at the 31-year-old’s asking price. The slugger is seeking a contract that will reflect his status as the game's top player, meaning that he's likely looking to top Alex Rodriguez's ten-year, $275MM deal. If Pujols does hit the open market after the 2011 season, Rosenthal writes that the Cubs, Rangers, and Angels are among the teams that could pursue Pujols. The Mets and Dodgers also could jump into the fray provided that their financial situations improve. The Yankees and Red Sox are obviously set long term at the first base position but Rosenthal posits that either team could get creative in an attempt to land Pujols.
Absolutly, they've always had a great uniform. I love the vibrant colors they use and the general design is always interesting. I might have to get myself one of the new unis, I really dig it.
Fred Wilpon is sure to get a boner from this vote for the Dodgers throwback uniforms I went with the 1940 alternates.
That's a sick uni, may be the first uni I buy that's not my favorite team in the particular sport. The Daniel Tosh look a like looks like he may be legitimately ill... I have always had a soft spot for the A's for some reason, you could say they are my second favorite team.
