This is a guy that was afraid to attend a press conference after he won the Cy Young. And Sports Illustrated had to sneak a picture of him because he didn't want to be on the cover and have more people recognize him. One bad start and the New York media will send him to the loony bin.
Damn good moves by the Red Sux thus far. They will be great.... We better not hear from the payroll police anymore.
I believe he is autistic. I agree with you, though, NYC would be a terrible place for that guy. He'd commit suey by June...
Big difference between paying just money versus paying a steep price in prospects for a guy that has had some anxiety issues.
^ Yep. When fans talk about the price being too steep, it's usually because of the players it'd take, and this is especially true with Yankees fans. Not autistic. Depression and social anxiety disorder.
Yeah, Cliff Lee would not wilt in NY, but Greinke would be a disaster. Greinke would handle being in New York worse than did Ed Whitson, Jack McDowell, and Randy Johnson.
Sox have made a complete turn around in regards to their off season in the past few days. It went from looking pretty bad to becoming pretty damn good. Good for you guys. Signing Crawford only makes the Lee signing more important because of how left handed heavy the sox line up has become.
All the Yankees need is Lee and theyre the odds on favorite to win the world series. Just get teh wildcard and we got CC and Lee pitching twice each in each playoff series. Ill take that happily
Something tells me the Red Sox will go out and sign Cliff Lee to a deal, maybe payback from a couple years ago when the Yankees signed Texiera after signing Burnett and Sabathia.
mentioned in yankees thread, but Lee to go back to Philly, per reports http://www.nesn.com/2010/12/report-cliff-lee-agrees-to-sign-with-phillies.html
lol jim rome If the Ol Gunglinger misses his first start in two decades, does it even make a sound. Thanks to Cliff Lee and the Texans, not tonight.

It marked the fifth time in his last seven seasons he topped the 20-home run plateau and it was the sixth time in eight Major League seasons he drove in 80 or more runs. Matsui has combined for a .297 batting average, 493 home runs and 1,570 RBI in 2,329 games in Japan and the United States. Read the full story at www.oaklandathletics.com
