Hah. If Papi isn't on the list, it's a sham. He's already admitted that he took something in the Dominican Republic, but doesn't know what it was. When Bonds said basically the same thing, it was the beginning of his end. Don't be surprised if you hear Manny's, Varitek's, or Shilling's names either. Plain and simple, I think we're all going to be very upset when this report hits the public.
Mitchell to deliver his report at 2 PM on Thursday. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3151479
How coincidental is it that Arod's contract is suppose to be finalized and announced on Friday? Just saying.....
Aaron Boone. Oh, and Johnny Damon, without one ounce of doubt. Even if he isn't on the list, I know he was a juicer.
Did you mean Brett Boone? I think Brett Boone was one of the most obvious juicers in the game. Giles as well. All this pap about Clemens "working too hard." The guy fits the profile so well, and I know for a fact that a family friend knows his supplier. Met him in rehab actually. -X-
Active players named in the report are likely to face discipline that will be less severe than the 50-game suspensions now in place for first-time positive tests for steroids. The discipline imposed will probably be based on the penalties in place in baseball when the player’s violations occurred. Baseball did not have penalty testing for steroids until 2004 and did not ban H.G.H. until before to the 2005 season. so does that mean there will be almost no consequences for the players on this list?
this list is based off of research and testimonies and interviews and such, right? so if "player x" didnt buy steroids from someone interviewed then hes not gonna be on the list. more than a few players are gonna get away scot free due to luck.
IT is? it shares: varitek, ramirez, ortiz, youkilis, timlin, schilling and wakefield. that's 7 guys out of 50. 8 if mirabelli is resigned
out of 50? baseball has a 40 man roster but its only from sept-postseason. so if you want to nitpick its 7/25. i stand by my contention that its basically the same team because its the same core group of players. we were talking about steroids anyway and i dont think dice-k or jacoby ellsbury are going to be in the mitchell report. however, with the exception of wakefield, i wouldnt be too suprised to see any of those guys that you mentioned on that list tommorrow. im not saying i think they all did roids, but i wouldnt put it past schilling, ortiz, and manny. ah who am i kidding the guy putting out the report is on the red sox board of directors. if there are multiple yankees on this list besides giambi and no red sox players, im gonna be pissed and call conspiracy.
are you kidding....players that were cut arent on the roster anymore. durr. and where are you getting this number 50 from, its either 25 or 40, take your pick. you definatley didnt understand the context of my statement, go back, read it, then come talk to me.
my point was that there were 50 players who played for the 2004 Red Sox, and only 7, maybe 8 of them will be on the team next year, That isn't even close to the same. 2/3rds of the starting Outfield, all the starting IF is gone. 3 of the 5 starters and all the relivers except timlin. http://www.baseball-almanac.com/teamstats/roster.php?y=2004&t=BOS You had said they were almost the same squad, it isn't even close. Only the catcher, backup catcher, LF, DH. 1 starter and 1 Rp are still on the team.
let me put it this way: who is more valuable to your team right now, those 7 guys or the other 43 guys that will play for them next season. they were the core of the team in 04 and are the core of the team now. obviously im not arguing that the percentage of players isnt small, but its still the core of the team, the players that are the most valuable.
