I'm hoping this ding dong will be a best on the team..... I like confidence, but he may want to take a short stroll down memory lane, say 8 games ago
The WR's Milliner is going to have to face. Sigh. Week 2 - Jordy Nelson Week 3 - Jeffrey and Marshall Week 4 - Megatron (LOL) Week 5 - Keenan Allen Week 6 - Demaryius Thomas Week 8 - Sammy Watkins Week 9 - Duane Bowe Week 12 - Sammy Watkins Week 13 - Mike Wallace
In all fairness, he deff has the schedule to prove it.. If he does great, we won't be able to say he was playing against inferior talent.
My only comfort is that when Revis was shutting down premier receivers, he was completely on an island with his safeties blitzing to support a defensive line that couldn't win battles if you promised them hookers. Milliner has some killer safeties and a defensive line that can give quarterbacks nightmares. It's a very different dynamic. And the linebackers... they are the wildcard.
Dee should've said I have the ability to be the best CB, an that is my goal, would've sounded a little more intelligent
He said he can't concede that a player that plays the same position as him is better than him. So in his eyes he's the best. But of course the comment was taken out of proportion.
You gotta love Westhoff... he's one funny dude. In response to Milliner's best corner in the league comment: "Dee Milliner is a guy that, it’s just taking him a little while," Westhoff said. "I was not very impressed with his rookie year. He made the mistake—and sometimes I think it’s the way a guy phrases an answer to a question—about being the best cornerback in the league, and he said that he was. Man, I’m not sure he's the best cornerback up here in Cortland. And I might include the university." http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/20..._the_best_cornerback_up_here_in_cortland.html
Once again CONTEXT: he was discussing his rookie year and he was awful most of that rookie year but he played really well down the stretch against some really good WRs.
No, Westhoff referred to both Milliner's rookie season and the statement. Westhoff clearly stated he was not impressed with Milliner's rookie season then referenced the question by saying its how an answer is phrased. Westhoff clearly was referring to the "I'm the best" statement. Not a lot of room for taking things out of context.
I get that he was referring to his "I am the best" comment but Mike's comment on his play were from watching him last year where he as awful at least half the year.
Milliner had a great stretch to finish the season, and at times flashed during the season, but he has a ways to go before he's considered one of the best never mind the best.
well no shit he was referring to last year. The guy has only played 1 season... what the hell is your point? I don't really care either way if it's out of context or not. (I don't see how it is anyway) Westhoff wasn't providing some hard hitting analysis there he was making a joke and I was laughing at it because it was funny. Nothing more nothing less. Sometimes it's fun to laugh at jokes.
it was a funny joke by westhoff but anti Jet fans like yourself are making it out that he watched him in practice yesterday and made the comments based off that. You guys get fooled by headlines too easily.
