He gets his hands on the ball. Could've had 2 TDs on the season if he held on. If I cut to the outside hard enough and comeback to the inside, I can beat Coleman in coverage.
I still remember though when NYJ traded up for him and when Revis name was announced, the Jet fans in the draft were like "WHO". But I knew who this guy was for sure.... as Revis was absolutely the best CB in the nation despite working with a dipshit coach(Wannstedt) and not much else on the defensive side outside of maybe HB Blades. Then during his holdout, I am sure alot of Jet fans were angry at him for the long holdout(2nd longest of any rookie that year, ahead of Russell of OAK) and were afraid his game will be effected. But what wonders does a full year of training camp and some experience under your belt do for a CB. Heck when the pass rush is THAT good like today, the CBs will be all smiles as they can finally get into their game and do what they are meant to do and that's to stop the WR from doing damage. Great stuff. Good test for Revis/Lowery next week as Revis gets the veteran Holt and Lowry gets a rookie counterpart in Donnie Avery.
=\ Really? For some reason, I remember quite a different reaction. I'm not even much of a draftnut, and even I knew who this kid was.
For arguments sake....where does everyone Revis belongs among the elite corners in this league? And how long before the national media takes notice?
I know you said for argument sake, not to blow you off, but really who cares about the national media, all this guy does is shut down half the field or take the other teams top WR completely out of the game. If the DC can ever figure out how to get the other DB's to cover the other part of the field this D is going far as it is almost impossible to run on them as well.
Off basic play making ability he is definitely up there with best he isnt the best shut-down corner but really who cares i luv Revis (no homo)
