id love to have vick on the jets, yes he may not be the most polished passer ever, but he is a dynamic offensive player which is something this team needs

the crimes he committed are a joke anyway, im not saying killing a few dogs isnt a terrible thing but to serve nearly 2 years for that is insane, rapists 1/2 the time serve half that sentence.

I'm sure Chad is smarter, he's one of the smartest in the game. Penny is about as pure a pocket passer as there is. Garcia does a lot of improvisation and extending of plays by moving the pocket and scrambling around. He also has a lot better arm and will throw the ball into tight spots. What are the similarities?

Every QB needs talent around them, Warner has taken full advantage of the talent around him when it was there. I don't think he's a "top tier" QB, but he's certainly on the next level.

He hasn't been the most consistent QB but when he's playing at the top of his game there aren't many better than him. Certainly not Vick.

You still haven't explained why the passing game goes away in the winter.

You do know that while the media focused on the poor little puppies, that the real charges brought up against him that held the real weight were the gambling charges, don't you?

People forget that way too often. It wasn't about the innocent little doggies, it was about Vick running an illegal gambling ring around said doggies.

well yeah, but to call it all a joke is ignorant, and for someone to not grasp the circus that comes with him being in New York is ignorant as well...

I also find that those who love him enjoy what they saw on Sportscenter's top 10 plays and didn't quite study the game film.

The report, dated Aug. 28, 2008, says, "Vick, Peace and Phillips thought it was funny to watch the pit bull dogs belonging to Bad Newz Kennels injure or kill the other dogs." The report has names and phrases redacted in order to protect the anonymity of certain individuals who cooperated with investigators.

The report also states in mid-April of 2007, Vick, Peace and Phillips hung approximately three dogs who did not perform well in a "rolling session," which indicates the readiness of a dog to fight. According to the report, the three men hung the dogs "by placing a nylon cord over a 2 X 4 that was nailed to two trees located next to the big shed. They also drowned approximately three dogs by putting the dogs' heads in a five gallon bucket of water."

I knew this thread was coming. Vick should go to the Browns. Just b/c of the dog irony.

First JP Losman and now Vick? Are you guys fricken serious?

WE HAVE QBS WHO ARE GOING TO COMPETE FOR THE JOB!!

Please no more stupid topics about horrible QBs and them coming here. We should be focused on the draft and FA other than QBs. We don't need one unless Sanchez is there at 17, which he won't be. We need DBs now and this FA market is pretty good and if we get ONE, I'll be happy.

I can't wait to see Vick as a Cowboy and watch Osi kill him the frist snap of the pre-season.

One can only hope you suffer a similar fate to that of Vicks dogs. Have you face half chewed off then hung for losing a fight. It would suit you well.

I want no part of this idiot. Flips his own fans the bird duing a game, gets caught with a container smelling like pot in a freaking airport of all places, then the dog issues.

Vick is a moron. If you want to smoke some pot, fine by me, dont be an idiot about it. People who pay good money to see you play while you make millions off of football and advertising? Why try to piss them off, just laugh all the way to the bank. An illegal dog fighting ring? Forget for a moment that I think its an awful thing to do, but its stupid as hell for a guy with millions to risk getting involved in. Despite his physical skills ( and throwing a football is not near the way it should be to be an NFL QB) Vick has shown a huge lack of maturity and willpower to lead a football team. He is a shallow self serving idiot, not a leader of men. Not a chance in hell I want him leading my team.

Thanks Harpua, you said exactly what has been on my mind about Vick. I can't believe the guy is not even out of jail yet and people are talking about him coming here. Hes a terrible QB anyway, why are people being so stupid? I like the fact that this isn't the Dallas Cowboys.

    Late Friday at work...bored....

I really don't want the guy, so it's more about what everyone else thinks.

It doesn't totally go away, but when they say things like "all weather O" that ultimately implies more of a ground game, because let's face it, when the weather gets bad you don't need to be chucking the ball down field. Warner is a little better with his gloves now, but he's prone to fumbles and cold weather makes that much worse. Garcia throwing ducks into the swirling winds of the meadowlands sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.

Could you imagine Warner or Garcia back there deciding to huck the ball 20 yards out in a snow storm?

Garcia doesn't have that great of an arm. From what I've seen, as far as passing talent goes they are pretty similar.

One of the bigger problems with Warner is once you pressure him the mistakes start rolling in. Just no. No no no.

    Garcia? Uhhhh...no no no.

    Vick? No no no.

I want the 3 guys on the roster to fight it out. That being said, Rex Ryan really doesn't care about character, so you never know....you might be watching Vick in a Jets uniform. I'd say there's a small chance of it, but a chance nonetheless.

If Pac-Man Jones got another shot, than I guarantee that Vick will get another shot after he paid his crime to society

The problem is, from the beginning, Goodell said his actions will be taken AFTER Vick serves his sentence. I too remember hearing his suspension by the NFL will not coincide with his prison sentence.

So yes, unless something changes, I too believe he will be suspended for 2009.
