Good move by the Fish. Thigpen played well last year... Low-risk high reward transaction.

    agreed.

I think if the Chiefs had half a brain they wouldve let Thigpen and Croyle battle for the starting job and they couldve saved themselves a draft pick in a loaded draft. and a boatload of money

I don't understand what you mean here. By trading Thigpen the Chiefs are adding a draft choice, not losing one, and since it's probably not a high round pick, this deal won't cost them any real money (probably not much different from what they're paying Thigpen). They obviously think that he isn't any good (since he couldn't beat out Croyle for the backup job), and therefore also think that he won't do much to improve Miami's record (making the draft pick worth a little more).

let me clarify, I was talking in regards to them trading for Cassel. that money couldve been spent on FA's. thats what i was talkin about when I said keeping a pick in a loaded draft and saving money.

and I just gave my opinion on Thigpen thats it. I thought he looked pretty good on a shit can of a team. I also dont think much of the Chiefs ability to draft with the exception of Dwayne Bowe

and any team that had Herm as a HC doesnt provide much of a barometer of QB play, especially with the defense they fielded last yr.

I also think Todd Haley has quite the ego, coming into KC and putting Bowe (probably their best player on offense at this point) in the doghouse. I dunno if he realizes he had two top 10 WR's to work with in ARI and a QB whos done unprecedented things in Warner.

    only time will tell.

Also, I'd say KC's line is worse than Miami's.

You know the player is bad when a former 1st round pick is cut by a minor league football team.

I should have seen that when you said have Thigpen and Croyle battle for the starting job - it makes perfect sense. Personally I do think that Cassel is better than either Thigpen or Croyle, but he's certainly not showing in any way so far that he's worth the money they gave him.

He was also cut by the Las Vegas Arena League team about 3 years ago... what a joke we had Shawn King and Peter Warrick as well as Alonzo Spellman.

Good move by Parcells. They couldn't have given up much and Thigpen is much better than what they already have, probably good enough to run them out the year without being too much of an embarrassment.

Thigpen is a good young QB playing on a shitty team. He should at least be an upgrade to their depth. If they are looking to start him then I say the Chad Henne experiment is over already.

Anybody have any news on the "undisclosed" pick yet?

Originally, the Chiefs wanted a 4th rounder for Thigpen and Miami didn't bite. I hope the Chiefs stuck to their guns knowing the sudden demand for a QB in Miami. I truly do. A 4th who can turn into a 3rd or 2nd if he gets a certain % of the snaps.

I think this is the first time I've ever rooted for Pioli.
