Well then in your next game under center I will be sure to look for you throwing it, because you're obviously an NFL QB who can read what the defense is going to do from the line of scrimmage. And of course you know exactly what was called and what the defense was showing, certainly better than a guy who has played nine or ten years in the league and been to the playoffs four times. Kudos to you, Broadway Brett.
"I don't care what Chad did here." He's a Phin now and we're talking about this season. And starting off 0-3 or 1-2 is acceptable to you.
If you have one chance to get 6 yards at a crucial moment in the game - and other than staring at a Prevent Defense - do you really think running it is yer best option? I mean, really?
If I know my personnel, I've practiced with the team all year and won 11 games with them, looked over the defense and saw what they were going to do, possibly. It's six yards.
I see, so now we have to be more accomplished than the NFL players we're discussing on here in order to have a valid opinion. There's no way he made a bad decision, especially seeing how the play failed and they had to kick a FG leaving Peyton Manning plenty of time to win the game. I love how you occasionally bring up my old user name like it's some kind of insult. Do you think that bothers me or something? I'm still a Favre fan - did you see that comeback last week?
Chad has always had a tough time winning against the better teams in the NFL. Three tough teams three tough losses. It's not about one decision or another. In order to beat good teams you need your QB to make plays lots of them. Game management usually doesn't work againt the better NFL teams. It does work against a majority of the NFL and Chad is very good at it.
How far removed are they from Cowher? Herm looked great with Parcells team.... Hell, So did Mangini after Chad got healthy.
Herm didn't win a SB with Parcells team. Apples and Oranges. You get a team through the playoffs with the trophy that's a good job.
Haha, that's your problem. Check with me in December when his body is breaking down because he was playing in his yard all off-season while all the 20-somethings in the NFL were in the weight room. Regarding the Chad thing, I already said it was a bad decision, but the end result was his team still got the lead. The defense blew it and his WR dropped a game winning TD, so again, it didn't decide the game. Maybe he saw something in the defense he didn't like, so tried not forcing a bad throw and getting it picked, then they can't kick a FG and get the lead. Even if they get a TD there Manning then ties it, so all your "foot on the throat" logic goes by the boards. Bottom line, I trust Chad's decision making at the line over yours, that's all I'm saying. You can spew all the opinions you want, doesn't make you right.
Most people have a tough time winning against the better teams, that's why they are the better teams. Chad has won in Foxboro three times, no other active QB besides Brady can say that.
I love the double standard. So Chad won in Foxboro, but when he has lost, it's because of his coaches or the lack of talent and whatever other contrived misfortune that surrounds him.
Another tired, twisted argument. Of course he didn't win by himself in Foxboro, but if he was the reason his team couldn't beat good teams it wouldn't have happened three times, now would it?
Enough have played there enough times this decade for the point to stand up. How did Chad's teams win there three times if Chad is holding them back vs good defenses?
no, enough QB's haven't played there even comparatively enough times. the only argument is that he was more successful than the Bills or Dolphins QB's, who have played there a comparative amount of times, and being more successful than the Bills or Dolphins QB's this decade hardly equates to being great. I'm not dismissing Pennington, I like him and he was a good QB for us and was a difference maker even though not a championship level QB. but that doesn't mean your argument is sound simply depending on the amount of victories at Foxboro compared to other QB's that simply didn't have as many opportunities.
The only thing that makes me just as happy as the Jets winning is the Dolphins losing. Having said that, I feel bad for Chad. I'm rooting for him to make another big-time recovery.
Do you think it's worth a 3rd surgery on his shoulder? He's gonna be 34 before the next season starts...
