The biggest problem was that we didn't actually upgrade the position, not that we spent what we spent.
I agree, there is a chance, which is not statistically small. My point was only that it is likely we will get FQB in the draft, not that the fun conversations about possibly getting Watson should stop.
If you put yourself on YouTube watching guys watching draft film I would definitely watch you watch guys watching draft film .
I'm going to be next level bro. I'm going to have a parrot watch guys watch other guys watch film on YouTube. A parrot that knows some fucking curse words bro.
Are you seriously trying to argue that throwing for 4823 yards, a 33/7 TD/INT ratio, with a 70% completion % isn't stellar? You said it yourself, a QB is but one moving part of a great team and I would argue that Houston's roster (outside of Deshaun) is worse than the Jets. I get the premise of your entire post though and I agree to an extent. We'd absolutely be giving up a lot to get him. However, let me ask this, which one of these do you think would be more difficult to find? A generational WR (I'm not sure if you're referring to Smith or Chase here but I think that tells you where I stand on that statement), a top CB, a top IOL, or a top 3-5 QB in the prime of his career? If you answer honestly, you'll see why a lot of us are pounding the table for Deshaun as long as the compensation is reasonable (very subjective statement, I know).
Watson clearly is gaming the system and reupped with Houston for the hometown super max. He knew Texans sucked and we all did. Not sure how this ends up for him.
You don't see the difference between trading picks for an unknown like Darnold was at the time and trading picks for a proven top 5 QB that is 25 years old? Holy shit, dude. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Watson averages more passing and rushing yards than the entire Jets offense this year. Rushing and passing yards combined.
No. The point I made is we JUST SAW how damaging it is to our roster to trade away draft picks, even 2nd round draft picks. It's impossible to recover quickly.
True, but the 'other problem' is we traded away three 2nd round draft picks we desperately needed, and our roster suffers to this day. That aspect of a trade can't be glossed over simply b/c we love the target of the trade.
