I agree, those are better stats. Unfortunately, it has less to do with Glavine's prowess with the bat and more to do with the Mets lineup.
of course. using an online betting system (virtual money), I bet on the over last night. Lost the chance to cover because of the rainout. the on and off rain in the area is what caused me to put less on the over for tonight.
 Bad luck with last night yis. I don't think the lines on these games are particularly hight, especially with the state of these offenses.
Since i love schedule stuff, Monday, July 30th seems like a nice day to play this game. Mets are at home on the 29th, and play at Milwaukee the day after. STL is at home on sunday afternoon, and plays at PIT on Tuesday. That's a perfectly OK flight. August 13 and September 27 are the only other logical dates.
It was a very low line! A bargain, considering Reyes was pitching. If it had completed, I probably would not have covered, but there was a chance.
Judging by the weather here in Queens, they definitely could've played this game tonight. It would've had to start around 9, but time is no object.
I imagine part of it is that they didn't want a game going past midnight (maybe far past midnight) tonight followed by a day/night doubleheader tomorrow against a top division rival. Can't say as I blame them.
