The .277 OBP for Flores is the killer. It's just not satisfactory. And believe me Sandy loves OBP. But I think along with everything else with Flores it could improve. His fielding is better, his power numbers are up there. He is an improving player. I'd keep him to see how it plays out. But you need players who can hit at least .250 in the lineup. You can't have a lineup full of under .200 hitters. A guy like Prado who can play many positions would fit in well with the Mets.

We gotta hope the Reds continue to tank and go into full sell mode. Todd Frazier would be a must get at that point. He would be a fantastic fit with Mets and would love to play for them.

Id prefer Prado much more over Zobrist. Doubt the Fish would be willing to help us out much though, so unless we're overpaying for him I think he'll draw enough interest elsewhere.

Flores' OBP is def insanely low. But where he's hitting in the lineup I wonder if the coaches are telling him to swing free cause of the garbage that usually bats after him.

If he's gonna give us 20 homers out of the SS spot and play average defense its good enough for me.

Granderson's BA keeps rising and then dipping as soon as he reaches around the .250 mark. What keeps him relevent offensively without the big time HR numbers he had with the Yankees are the number of walks he draws. Last year he hit .227 but his OBP was a hundred points higher.

If someone woulda told me the Mets and Yankees would both be in First place on June 8th, i would have given them 250-1 odds. What a crazy season so far. Especially with Houston too.

Would Sandy trade Niese for Prado. The Marlins pitching staff is ranked 21st in MLB with a 4.05 team ERA. The Mets are ranked 5th in baseball with a 3.39 team ERA. The Marlins have only one lefty starter, Brad Hand who is 1-1 with a 4.25 ERA. In five seasons with the Marlins he has a total of only 6 wins. He's 6-19. Niese is 3-6 this season with a 4.43 ERA but career wise he has 55 wins (57 losses with a 3.97 ERA). As we all know he had a very bad stretch of about 3 games and his ERA went way up. Before that he was ok and his last start was alright. Prado is hitting .284, 3 HRs, 23 RBIs, .321 OBP. Would you make this deal?

Getting shut out the first 5 innings of a game has become almost standard with this team.

We are seriously about to get a no hitter thrown against us. So embarrassing!

should it still count as a no hitter when the team is filled with a bunch of non major league hitters?

4th straight year San Fran has a no-no.

Gotta think Posey has a shit ton to do with that.

He made a fool of that ump tonight with the way he was framing pitches.

Good then we can play Syndergaard in the field, his bat is better than half our lineup.

With all these injuries you expect the GM to make a move and fill weaknesses. But this guy doesn't do anything. And the owner makes Woody look great.

He's great at making excuses why he can't or won't make a trade. I think he overvalued his roster but the Owners love him because he's keeping payroll down. Is Alderson overmatched at GM? Absolutely he is and its hurting the organization. The Mets Ownership really needs to take a good hard look at this organization and for once, not thru the lense of payroll. This GM sucks and the roster he put together just isn't good enough to hit consistently. He's depending on his vaunted pitching staff not giving up more than 2 runs every outing and that's too much pressure.

The Wilpons do make Woody look like the best owner ever. Too bad MLB didn't force them to sell.

Two years in a row he's predicted 90 wins. A good way to put the blame on your manager. Don't make me laugh. Even after a good start the Mets will be lucky to finish with 80. He's loaded with pitching and wants to get rid of both Gee and Niese to make room for Matz, etc. Rumor is Matz will be brought up in a week or two. He won't get a top flight offensive starter for either of those guys but he could get a big league bat something he has few of right now. PS the biggest surprise with Sandy last offseason was the signing of Cuddyer. Because the Mets had to lose their 1st round pick for signing him. According to reports the Mets internally debated making the move because of the draft pick but finally succumbed and signed him to a pretty economic deal for a guy of his caliber. If you remember the winter meetings last yaar while most teams made a lot of trades Sandy did nothing. The Cuddyer and Mayberry signings were basically it. And so far Cuddyer is playing like his .270ish lifetime BA not like a guy who led the league in hitting two years ago.
