At least they're making it immediately obvious that they're going nowhere.

    That was embarrassing....

Got home from work around 9:30... unfortunately FOX was showing the Braves game. I checked the score, saw it was tied, then decided to find a stream.... in time to watch that meltdown. Didnt even watch the bottom of the 9th, as I knew it was over.

SMFH, 11-4 lead and they almost blow it.

The Jarred Kelenic saga continues. He had a fantastic first four weeks of the season, but has been terrible since the end of April (.225 / .299 / .356 split since April 26), and now he broke his foot yesterday kicking a Gatorade cooler after striking out in the bottom of the 9th with two men on base. He'll probably be out for a couple of months.

I will continue to hate the WBC for the pointless injury to Diaz, but this supposed terrible trade for the Mets has turned out to be anything but, even with Cano's failings.

Why promote Vientos and put him on the bench already. Sure he hasn’t played well but I’d rather see him getting an opportunity to figure it out even if it means outs. We’re getting outs with Vogelbach anyway.

..and Vogelbach hits a HR. Ha

What is going on with Pete? He’s about to get below the mendoza line.

I don't care if Spanky goes on a tear, I do not want to see him play over Vientos. He needs to be in the lineup every day.

Rumor has it that the Mariners are interested in Canha.

What a joke - bases loaded, none out, and they don't score, as Alvarez pops up and Baty hits into a 4-6-3 DP.

The 2023 Mets are 1/16 with 1 BB, 5 K, and a .390 OPS with the bases loaded and nobody out this year.

From "jack" on twitter. Petrozza disabled Twitter links so just wanted to source where I got it.

Mets win the suspended game with some help from the Sox.

I don't know about the rest of you, but, play the kids every f'n day, because we're not making the playoffs and sell, sell, sell before the trade deadline.

And once again Scherzer underwhelms. They should have traded him weeks ago, since they probably can't get anything of the slightest value for him at this point.

Do they not want him up cause they don’t want him to lose value & have plans to use him as trade bait? Or they feel like he can’t field a position?

And once again Carrasco is awful. Barring an unlikely comeback tonight, that will be 4-5 since the All-Star break, reinforcing that nothing has changed, or is likely to change.

Tylor Megill's awful major league season (5.17 ERA, 1.668 WHIP) has gotten far worse in AAA - after another horrid outing yesterday for Syracuse (5 runs given up in 3 1/3 innings), he has a 10.29 ERA and 2.00 WHIP in the minors. He'll be 28 in four days, and is apparently miles away from being a major league pitcher. Just another pitching failure to add to the list.

Mets win 9-3. Have to think that they're not trading Verlander, although his value is going up.
