The other big mistake was Dickey grounding into a double play on the first pitch he saw with the bases loaded, one out, and Reyes on deck. He should not have been swinging. Pagan's call was iffy, if he had been running like he was on the previous pitch, he could have walked home, though.

I watched that particular half inning. Pagan absolutely would not have scored unless there was a horrendous throw to the plate. I saw you writing about going to a beer festival yesterday. Perhaps you had too much to drink and had blurred vision while watching the 8th inning.

More silly baseball stuff. "One out, don't send him. Same exact fuckin' play but with two outs- send him!"

What difference does it make how many outs there were? Pagan wasn't going to score if there were 0 outs or 728 outs in the inning.

LOL. I was slightly askewed last night, but, with Pagan's good baserunning and the Mets lack of clutch hitting I've become so accustomed to seeing over the past years, I would have sent him. It was a bang-bang, 50/50 play.
Like Maynard said, hope to make it 2-out-of-3 today.

Agreed...A good throw and Pagan is out. I was listening to the game on the radio and wanted to hear that they were sending him but when I saw the replay, Hale made the right call.

Had I been at a beer festival, i would have sent Pagan home...

Pagan was going to have to plow into the catcher to try to knock the ball out because he was not going to beat a halfway decent throw to the plate. Amazingly, this occurred during the only 10-minute stretch of the game that I actually watched. I listened to other parts on the radio.

Unfortunately, he had stumbled when attempting to steal second. On the play, the catcher was unable to handle the pitch. Pagan would have been on second easy and then would have scored on the Duda hit.

I have not heard any exact dates but it does not sound imminent. I would say after the all star break is likely.

Capuano pitching well as the starters continue to shine. Mets robbed as Murphy incorrectly called out for leaving third base too soon. Mets should be up 1-0. Wish this play was reviewable...

Mets are "un-robbed" and awarded the run as it was Pagan's baserunning error, failing to re-touch second as he returnd to first

Ridiculous performance by the Mets with 2 outs today - 6 runs in the 8th and 9th scored after two men were out with nobody on base.

Big Pelf pitched well. 2 runs over 7 innings. Mets down 2-1. Need to rally in top of the 9th. Bay bats 3rd in that inning...he needs to make it happen.
