    [Standard Glavine sucks rant]

This is ridiculous. What happens if he finishes the season like this? How is handled in the post season?

I'm not sure what you mean. If Pedro isn't back and starting Glavine is the #4. If he is, then Glavine is either in the pen or off the roster. Anything else would be lunacy.

I agree with that entirely, but would Willie? This has been discussed recently; Gotay is able to get playing time because Valentin broke his leg, Green isn't getting benched, etc. Willie has a lot of faith in his veterans. Do you see him sending a 300 game winner to the pen/off the roster? Weather the alternative is lunacy or not?

we really have been giving him a lot of run support lately, but nothing seems to matter.

he's pitching to a WHIP of 2 in this game and he has a 3 run cushion anyway.

I can't stand this garbage. put him on the DL or something with a fake injury, and maybe in a month or so he'll have remembered how to pitch.

You are forgetting who the manager is, Glavine will be treated like a #1 if we don't have Pedro

What choice would he realistically have though? Unless one of Ollie/Maine/El Duque shits the bed for the rest of the season there's no way he can take a start away from one of those guys to throw Glavine. He would get crucified.

Yeah, I guess so. But it still worries me anyway.

Hey, wait a minute...Glavine's still pitching? Really?

Whats everybody all pissed off about?

Glavine is treading water to get 300 and call it a career. I think everybody knows he's not the same pitcher anymore.

I doub't they'll lean on him that heavy in the playoffs.

because we're paying him like $7.5 million and he's easily our worst starting pitcher

that and the fact that he's determined to blow as many big leads as possible

Thankfully Glavine got #299, hopefully we can finally put this to bed with his next start

I'm an eternal optimist, so I'm just gonna hope that once Glavine gets #300 that he'll remember how to pitch.

And guys, we all know with the way that Willie manages that he'll trot Glavine out there as our #1 in the playoffs. It's absolute lunacy, but having watched him for 2 1/2 seasons now, I can say with confidence that unless Glavine gets substantially worse than he is right now after #300 that he'll be starting over one of Perez, Maine, or El Duque.

    Phils 7, Nats 5 in 14.

    Giants 2, Braves 1.

Mets up 4 on Atlanta, 5 on Philadelphia.

BTW, completely under the radar the Mets are back to having the best record in the NL, although the recent troubles of Milwaukee and LA have obviously helped with that.
