Agreed, and its a shame he did that, becuase there was no way they were turning that DP. game woulda been tied.

Seeing the play live I thought no way they were turning the DP, after seeing the replay I'm not as sure. Still don't think they would have. Either way it was a boneheaded play by Anderson.

I'm all for aggressiveness and I love the take out "slide" but I don't know what the hell him and Willie were arguing about. He didn't slide, it was closer to a tackle then it was to a slide.

Between the foul ball that didn't go foul and the extremely rare obstruction call to end a game, I have never seen a team lose back to back games in that fashion. Need to get a win today, I still feel comfortable with a 4 game cushion heading into September.

It's too bad that the rest of the team isn't as good as Wright.

I view this as an absolute watershed moment for Willie. This is a team in deep trouble, and he has shown no ability to do anything about it. I don't think managers make all that much of a difference usually, but this team is playing like it doesn't give a damn, and that is on the manager. If the Mets go down quietly in this game, Willie should be ashamed of himself.

I agree with Gary, Ron, and Keith's sentiments here. It is very disturbing that the Mets refuse to acknowledge that Anderson's play was idiotic. Not to harp on this, but this is just plain bad managing by Willie - rather than holding his team accountable for their pathetic play this week, he's buying into their "poor pitiful us" crap.

And yet another example of a Met playing with his head up his ass.

What, if any defense did they give for the play? I mean, what can you say? Unless you don't know the rule I don't see how you could defend it.

Fuck Carlos Delgado. What a fucking joke. This team is an embarrassment. Completely terrible.

I saw the highlights of that play this morning. Anderson reached for him and tried pulling him down. How is the call even debatable? It's the easiest interference call I've ever seen.

I'm not sure but I heard the "umps out to get the Mets" explanation from a couple Met fans today. I mean Keith Hernandez, king of wanting to throw at people and take players out at every opportunity even condemned the play immediately. That really tells you all you need to know.
