Lawrence should be bitchslapped in the clubhouse and never pitch again this season.

What are you talking about? My TV says it is 4-4.

I had been watching ESPN and came here to find people fibbing.

This is on Willie tonight. How Brian Lawrence is pitching a game in mid September kind of in the middle of a pennant chase is beyond me.

Didn't you listen, it was his day. Willie doesn't making pitching decisions based on merit or ability, just days. This sheds some light on some of his more curious bullpen decisions throughout the year.

    Oh, okay.

The Eagles are wearing white tonight. This means Joe Gibbs has to look at burgundy unis, which he doesn't like.
I wish the Eagles and Giants make the Cowboys wear blue this year. Those two teams will sometimes do it, but not enough. Next to the Patriots, Dallas is the biggest douchebag team in the league.

Anyway, back to baseball. Anthony Reyes has not yet allowed the Phillies to take the lead.

when a team is knocking the hell out of a pitcher early in the game do you

    a) bring in a pitcher that's the exact same type of pitcher

    or

    b) anything else

    i know willie's answer.

fact that Lawrence was awful in a pitcher's park against a weak lineup is not surprising. He's not a major league pitcher. Never should've been on the roster at all. He's total crap.

Redding having his fourth bad start in a row is, though.

The Phillies will phuck up, as they always do. Maybe not tonight, but they'll do it before the month is up.

Seriously, how pessimestic can you possibly be? Do you lower your expectations so that you are surprised when things work out? Your comment that if we lose a game from our lead we lose the division was particularly startling.

this team has had countless oppertunities to put this divison to rest and has failed everytime (granted they have had many chances to lose the lead, but have recovered)

but. after what happened this weekend you have to stop the bleeding ASAP. pick up ANOTHER game the next day?

    fucking ridcolous

    SHOW SOME BALLS
    SHOW SOME GUTS

    WIN A DAMN GAME

I agree with that. You'd be hard pressed to find someone who didn't. But neither game is over, and the Mets would still be leading the division. Awarding it to the Phillies when they're 2.5 GB doesn't make any sense.

but saying we're safe and blah blah blah because we're "still in first!!!" doesnt make any sense either.

everything that this team can do wrong, they ARE doing wrong...

    not commenting on this defense.

True, saying everything's going to be ok is foolish. But there needs to be a balence. There's a difference between, "we lose a game tonight, we lose the division" and "we lose a game tonight, we're in serious trouble". As I type that, I realize you're going to point out we were already in serious trouble at the beginning of the game. Whatever.
