I just don't see that he has any real alternative. When Alou isn't playing and you hit Church 2nd then you've got to bat Delgado 5th and it's just a barren wasteland after the first few hitters in the order. It is nice to see someone with actual power batting the 2 hole though, it's been such a long time.

No, walks don't kill you, baserunners do, and the suggestion that someone walking two batters on 3-2 counts has anything to do with fielding is one of those great "baseball facts" that don't actually have the slightest basis in fact.
I had to mute these idiots after they were discussing Reynolds last inning saying that he had "as much power as anyone, the A-Rod's, the Carlos Delgado's."
