Mets making it even more too interesting. Ayala is not a closer, and it's ridiculous for Manuel to keep treating him like he is one.
calm down, while he should of definatly had somebody warming up we still won. and im sure you, like me, wanted castillo ph for earlier, and look what he does in the 9th, he starts our 2 out rally! and manuel is 16 games over .500 since taking over.
Arguing strategy on the basis of how it turns out is the worst way to do it. A manager's job is to put his team in the best possible position to win, and Manuel did the opposite about 6 different times in this game. The fact that he got lucky enough to have 1 great swing by Beltran doesn't in any way excuse a poor managing job. It's exactly that argument that got us an extra year of Willie Randolph. Edit: And you're mistaken, I didn't want Castillo pinch hit for, I didn't want him batting second in the lineup to begin with.
as you can see, im trying to figuire out why he is even playing. personly i would be playing easley or a.reyes. but we are 16 games over .500 w/manuel, so for you to say f::k him, is a bit absurd
