I saw At The Gates play on Friday night and it was the best set I've seen in a long time. They played the entire Slaughter Of The Soul album and a number of songs from Suicidal Final Art. I really hope they go back into the studio.
bought the new Metallica album today after listening to MP3s... pretty good. I'd say this is the best one since 1991...
I agree. When the first song kicked in i was somewhat reminded of Justice. I haven't heard the whole thing yet but getting rid of Bob Rock and going with Rubin was definetly a good move
From what I've heard off the new Metallica I found it boring and uninspired yet still way better than St. Anger.
If anyone wants the out of print Combat Records version (as opposed to the remaster) of Megadeth's classic "Killing is my Business," the lossless flacs are here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=YVLUQ3C6 Every metal fan should have this album, esp. as a palate cleanser after something like Unforgiven III.
I have always been a fan of Fear factory. I also like bands like Soilwork and Dark Tranquility. Any of our resident Metal heads have any suggestions of really good bands in that family of metal?
I would suggest In Flames, maybe Cradle of Filth and Children of Bodom. Oh and definately Arch Enemy, and on that note Carcass, the album "Heartwork" rules!
