New Agalloch EP out February 29. It's all folk and really no metal, but still brilliant.

I prefer North From Here, but Amok is definitely a classic.

Fucking sweet. Glad to see that their reunion wasn't half-assed.

Of course my biggest nightmare is that they get back in the studio and what results is something that sounds retarded like In Flaymz.

I'm about as surprised as you can get that they chose San Antonio as one of 14 stops. The metal scene in this town is putrid.

I'm really curious what any potential new stuff will sound like. Since them and Carcass called it quits there have been hordes of second rate assholes copying them note for note.

What can they really do that 100 metalcore douches haven't done already?

    Should be interesting.

On an unrelated note Keep of Kalessin is coming through by me with Behemoth. That should kick some serious ass.

I'm really annoyed that tour managed to not book a single date in NY.

I?m planning to go to this Festival again this year www.withfullforce.de . I?ve been there twice before, very cool relaxed little fesitval. Very little security, no cops whatsoever and no fights exept the pit. You basically drive on the Festival area, park the car and put your tent next to it, that?s very rare here, and very cool, no endless walkint to the camping area and you can leave your phone, money and everything in your car and don?t have to carrie it with you all the time, or hide it somewhere. The organisation is also great, the longest it takes you from your tent to the stage is 15 minutes, and the stages are conected, so you don?t have to go throu all the security checks again, when you wanna switch stages, so it takes you only about 2 minutes. The lineup isn?t all that impressive right now, but i?m sure they?re gonna add at least one big name to it the next few weeks. I?ve been there the first time in 2003, check the lineup, it was amazing.

WOOT!! One date scheduled for Mansfield, MA for any New England based fans. I think the pre-sale for that show will end up being in the next few days. Still waiting to see.

I got my oldest daughter (16) hooked on them the last time they came to Boston in '06. They played the Agganis at BU and we took the green line subway afterwards.. the train cars were packed all to hell. There were a couple of cute gals on the train who didn't know who Iron Maiden was, so as the car went underground all the fans on the car burst out singing 2 Min to Midnite... needless to say ordinary folk were a bit nervous. lol

I plan on taking my youngest (14) this time and getting her hooked on them. How can you not love a Maiden show???

That's the thing, metalcore and the newer melodic crap is about as unimaginative as you can get. I would have been nice to see what melodic could have been without record executives getting in the way. On a somewhat related note, Blinded By Fear is available in a metal pack on Rock Band. It's fucking impossible on the Hard difficulty.

I uszed to be heavily involved with a music club and had loads and loads of demo discs sent to me, most pretty cack, but there were some really ace bands, none of which I can remember at present, will try to dig some out, I'm sure some of them went onto bigger and better things.
