Actually, they're playing here (The Palladium) on the 13th...

I'm not sure if it's worth shelling out the cash to see 'em only as a supporting act though.

Holy crap, that blows. Daath, Mushroomhead and Lordi are reason enough to miss a show. DF is headlining here too, it's only the second half of that bill, with Daath and Naglfar.

So far I have two emo band accomplishments. MCR and The Used that I have called shit to their faces. Work tonight at that Taste of Chaos crap that all the emo kids go to, was backstage and then sitting around. The Used came up and sat next to me.
"Did you like the show mannnn"
"Nah, I think your music is shit"

That's pretty much how the conversation went

I've only had one emo band accomplishment...Chiodos.
Me and a friend of mine were bitching at them when they went on stage. Then we got a shitload of people to boo them.
    SPEAKING OF BOOING.
We booed Trivium offstage at sounds of the underground a couple years ago.

Does anyone else here listen to Arch Enemy. They were great, but this last record is a little too formulaic for me. It is one of those albums where I say to myself, "I've heard this riff before".

EDIT: Nah... Don't say ripping good form. Makes you sound too British which is never a good thing. Tosser and wanker are good words to describe the pale, pastey individual that is the singer of The Used though.

New Arch Enemy sounds just like In Flames did for the past 8-10 years. Same goes with pretty much any melodic Death Metal band from Sweden, it seems like. Now that At The Gates is coming back together, I can only hope they will get into the studio and add some excitement to an otherwise dying sub-genre of metal.

You gotta figure that it would be tough for Carcass and At The Gates to separate themselves from the thousands of copy-cats that ruined the genre since their departure. It's not like you can do anything melo-gothenburg-whatever that hasn't been done before.

Personally, I'd like to see Carcass come back with some of their oldschool goregrind and At The Gates come back with something thrashy and heavy and as little melo as possible.

I only have The Inexorable by them so far, but I fucking love it. I was thinking about picking up Exterminate next. Which do you recommend between the two, Kurt?

  18. I gotta tell ya....normally i always reccomend the classic over the newby...but this is the best death metal new release I've heard since Gateways to Annihilation(which was about 7 years ago)...w/ that in mind...i'd def. go w/ the new one.
