Some QBs become great because they make all the rt reads (Montana) Some become great because they can complete passes even when they make the wrong read (Favre and Marino) I think coordinators like Schotty focus to much on always making the perfect read. That is why Pennington did ok in his offense he usually made the proper read but lost his arm strength after 30 shoulders surgeries. What we are hearing early out of OTA's is that Sparano is the exact opposite I hope we have not gone to far to the other side.
He was in that case because the route combination and execution forced an error on the defensive side. Basically any route combination against that defense with two deep routes on one side of the field puts pressure on the safety and creates openings and if the QB is given time by his o-line he can complete deep passes against that defense. That defense gets burned deep all the time dude.
i remember that exchange, nobody knows what cav said to sanchez ... id bet it had more to do with his demeanor than the sequence of plays
But he is correct teams play cover two to prevent the deep ball. Traditionally cover 2 is thrown down the seam, or in the gap behind the corner and in front of the safety. it can also be exposed behind the line backers. Cover 2 can as does get beat deep but that is all about play design and execution.
