Yeah, but the O-Line is facing a 2nd and 3rd string defensive line.

True... but the running lanes created by our 1st team unit are much better then the ones created by our 2nd and 3rd string unit... even if the competition they face is different.

exactly the holes should still form, its more of a test to see if he will hit them.

Not in the second game. McKnight did a fair amount of running behind our 2s against their 1s.

Either way, I'm not seeing many holes and he hasn't been decisive enough. It's a problem on both sides, but the latter has improved a bit. We'll see what happens with the 1s.

McK really needs to show up on Friday night. As it is, his draft status makes him practically immune to being cut but being labeled as dead weight, ala Verna Ghoston, might be worse. If not, we can always call him "No-show" or better yet, "DNP".

    Well...

    First the puking.

Then after a couple weeks of training camp, when he's getting chewed out by the coach, he's claiming he's not gassed, but he looks plenty gassed...

Then against Carolina (WEEK2 Preseason) he looks like he's going to die after a great punt return.

He may run a great 40 but I'd be SHOCKED if he can run the mile in under 7 minutes...

(and he should be well under 6)

Right. Week 3 of the preseason is clearly make or break time. The Gholston comparisons are completely appropriate, too.

McKnight just runs soft, he doesn't hit the hole like he should.

Hard to hit the hole without being hard in his approach.

I don't compare him to Leon of late but to Leon as a rookie, and Leon worked his ass off. It was great having Hard Knocks this year, McKnight just seems disinterested to me. Doesn't seem to have that fire or even excitement.

Maybe he's still in a bit of shock between the difference of college and the NFL.

at least your avatar is nice to look at..

i don't know why you're trying to hand out "nicknames" after two preseason games.

He is coming in as a 3RD string RB.. nothing like what VG was suppose to be. The draft slots alone of the two make them nothing alike..

Well that and watching him at the first game he just seemed disinterested. I wasn't staring the whole time but it was a topic of conversation in our section.

    Dude I just can't anymore.

People just don't look beyond the surface anymore or they allow a former role player to subconsciously judge another.

Fuck it all.... Did Revis come back?

So up to this point you've been impressed with McKnight? Just failing the conditioning test alone was bad.

If that were you would not be 100% ready, I mean it's the NFL.

I'm not saying he's a bust or he sucks and should be cut. As of right now he looks unimpressive.

    ...holy shit.

How "impressive" is a developmental prospect supposed to look?

His attitude, the coaches have said it. Wouldn't you rather see Chauncey out there at this point until he's more polished?

Never mind, you are right all Jet fans need to think as one. I just said to this point and judging him on his ground.

I'd like to see Chauncey if they can keep 6 backs, but he had a similar performance against softer competition. He's also been in the league longer. Let's give McKnight a bit of time here.

I still haven't seen these quotes from coaches about his attitude, BTW. I'm looking for them, because it was certainly a concern in McKnight's sophomore year, but I haven't seen them.
