Comparing any two players after one game is ridiculous. Sure, you can say that Peterson looked better in his first game, but it's irrelevant. Obviously, AD is outstanding. We still have no idea what McFadden will turn out like.
Absolutely correct. Career longevity was a concern with Peterson as well. Several teams didn't rate him highly because he seeks out contact rather than absorbing it to minimize the impact on his body. Watching Peterson last night, he seems to have gotten better, but he still leaves himself wide open far too often. Unfortunately for McFadden, I'm not sure the coaching in Oakland will help enough to correct that.
Although I think McFadden did fine last night he didn't look any better than Fargas and definitely not even close to AD. The Raiders really should have traded down if possible and stock piled picks.

The NFL is a different place, and people can never think that what they do in college directly transitions to the next level. a line would make him look good, like Thomas Jones - he looks like the Chicago TJ now, not the odd slightly above JAG we saw last year.
The Raiders run blocking is actually very solid. Just look at what Lamont Jordan did early last year and what Fargas did late.
