I honestly believe that Marshall is a top 5 receiver in the game. Unfortunately, he also happens to be completely fucking insane (not Marshawn Lynch style "that guy's crazy!", actually mentally ill.) You can't compare Marshall's trade value to any other player in the league.
I believe in what we got, these guys need to get their confidence up. No more bandages man no more Plaxs or Braylons - let these young guys prove themselves on the field. Patrick Turner is catching TDs on Cro, what's to say he can't step up? I myself am not sold on Turner, but he's got the most chemistry with Sanchez - that's got to account for something, if he can step up the Jets would be in amazing shape. Chaz, Hill someone's going to step up, but we need to let them play
Let's see if we can shit-panic anymore in the next 24 hours about our horrible receivers/line/quarterback controversy before anyone actually gets seen on the field.
Cant argue with that Although its also worth mentioning that both times Marshall got traded, he also had a monster contract attached to him. Whereas Harvin has 2 years under a friendly rookie contract. That said value wise I wouldnt personally want to give up more than a 3rd for him, but could see another team giving a 2nd for him. But theres no way he gets traded, so this is all pointless. And theres far less of a chance of us being the team to trade for him if he did
The problem is what usually happens in pre-season/24 hours from now is not what happens in the regular season. Brett Rattliff,Chansi Stuckey and Davd Clowney are proof of that.
Ok then how about Mike Wallace who has had better stats than Harvin ever year who could have been picked up for only a first. No Kerley involved and not 1 team in the NFL went for it.
Any team who wanted to get Wallace for 11 million/yr + a first coulda just got vincent jackson for 11/12m/yr instead while saving their first rounder.
I know this is hard to believe, but the Jets traded up into the early 2nd for Hill for a reason. Our receiving corp is pretty much set. If we add someone its gonna be a lower tier guy
Ok Hill has potential. The Cowboys reportedly "aren't even thinking about" signing free agent Plaxico Burress. Executive VP Stephen Jones' public response was that the team would consider Plax and other veterans if none of the young receivers on the roster step up over the next month. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports, however, that Plax's camp has touched base with the team. No signing is imminent.
If we can get him at a fire-sale price, like Tebow's deal, why not? But if we have to lose rd1 plus something for him, thanks but no thanks.
