Im not sure if the Viking's would consider trading Harvin but this is a position the Jets are going to need an upgrade at before the season starts in my opinion or we are going to find ourselves looking to trade for someone early in the season ala 2009 when we brought in Braylon. I like Hill but I think he is to raw right now to be a consistent player for this offense in year 1. I really dont understand why the Jets never brought Braylon back or why they let him go for that matter, could he really be that bad off the field? The guy was a big tall target who could get open down the field and had great chemistry with Sanchez. He signed with the 49ers last year for $1 million. I think he really fit well in our system. I know he had a knee problem but I still would have liked the Jets to take a look at him this year. Didnt mean to turn this into a Braylon Edwards post it just annoys me.
The more I'm reading and hearing, I'm seriously doubting whether Chaz makes the 53 man roster. I know a lot of people here were counting on him being a big threat if he could stay healthy.
If it means anything (it doesn't), Incarcerated Bob is claiming the Jets are offering a 2nd and a 4th for Percy.
Again, take this with a boulder of salt. Incarcerated Bob @incarceratedbob **BREAKING NFL NEWS**Source: Jets have upped offer for Harvin (2nd & 4th) also Browns & Cowboys have made calls about getting Percy #Vikings
i call BS...if the jets were that deep in talks and other teams were making calls we would have seen some sort of report about it by now. hes just throwing shit against the wall and hoping something sticks.
Meh, this sounds just like the "Nmandi to Jets deal being finalized now" crap from 2010. I pay him zero mind now. Sometimes he gets lucky and predicts right, but 95% of what he says is pure crap. What has he been right about this year that he reported first?
I'm not going to research, but I do remember him being right about Tebow to here, Manning to Broncos, and some signings that others said wouldn't happen. I thought he was a fraud, but then he started being right a lot.
true but if he did nail those things its a solid stance...i dont think anyone predicted tebow to jets AT ALL. i will say this...he did report jets pursuing namdi before mainstead media... he lost me tho when he reported the jets locked up braylon and holmes...
I agree with those that say incarceratedbob is full of shit. With that said... let's play devils advocate and the Jets did bring him here. I'm assuming he would need a new contract in order to be happy since that's why he wants off the Vikings... right? Would that basically spell the end of Revis?
I think it would spell the end of Cro before Revis...But it would certainly add a painstaking element to the Revis negotiations.
Cro has 3 years left on his deal... Revis 2... whatever's going to happen it'll happen with Revis first.
not so sure about that...revis is looking to get locked up for his career...that is no doubt an objective. With that said, Cro is making a ton of money considering we have Revis on the other side, making him to me, the most expendable guy on the team in a situation like this.
I understand that... but there are cap ramifications to moving Cro out before the last year of his deal. I don't know the exact numbers the accelerated signing bonus hit could hurt the Jets ability to do what they need to do, including resigning Revis.
Yea I could see us trading Cromartie after either this season or the one after. Kyle Wilson is more than capable of playing #2 corner. Trade Cro for probably a shit draft pick because of his contract but it will open up room to do other things most importantly. Edit: Actually I just looked at Cro's contract and he is only owed 4.3 million in 2014. 7 million next year but even that is not terrible. Thats a very movable contract if we trade him after next season and he is still playing at a high level.
I havent been following the Harvin saga at all and I certainly am not going to take into account anything that rumor-mongerer writes, but I will say Harvin would be perfect for this offense. Harvin (if he can stay on the field) would be a playmaker the Jets absolutely lack on offense and his ability to be a WR/RB hybrid type makes him intriguing. I know Rex loved him coming out of college and if they hadn't traded up for Sanchez, he'd already be a Jet. I would love it if they could swing something for him.
