84 in Madden though. Just sign him to a long term deal and trench fight with him, and you could make Brent Smith ELITE.
For a rebuilding team that doesn't need a subversive personality as a veteran and leader of their rebuilding team, I would choose Mangold in this situation on a gamble alone. Mawae single-handedly destroyed what little credibility Al Groh had in 2000. He has a huge ego. Don't get me wrong, he is one of the foremost centers in team and league history, and great at what he has done, but you have to look at the whole picture, not just what he does on the field. Tangent: Kevin needs to get over himself and his anger at our current FO. Getting the juicy gossip over the phone from an upset former Jets teammate and then spewing it to NY beat writers as 'a source familiar with Jets personnel' is an underhanded, punk thing to do. Not what a leader does. And he is now trying to screw with the chemistry of the team the same way he screwed with Groh, through the media. Which now makes him the enemy.
Mangold was plenty proven at OSU, but seniority would oversee that..a lot of people are forgetting that Mawae was a Pro-Bowler for quite a while. I'm actually stunned that there are so many people who picked Mangold over Mawae.
Past tense, last year Mawae was an awful NFL player who if he hadn't been injured and Herm wasn't the HC he would have been benched based on his play.
