Would you want Matt Barkely on the Jets if he were released?

Yes in a heartbeat. I'd trade a pick and geno. Geno can backup Marriota. J:cool:

You know...I hadn't thought of that. McGloin actually would be a pretty decent choice. To be quite honest I would even put him in competition with Fitz for the starting gig....

Lifelong Trojan fan who judges players by their accomplishments and their abilities instead of where they went to school.......

But I would not want him, no zip on his passes and he's only accurate when he's got great protection.

Absolutely agree, but I think that he's the primary backup to Carr, right? If so, unless Mac can work some magic (Smith for McGloin straight up?!?!?!), it's probably a pipe dream :(

I agree, and I heard the Eagles are shopping Barkley. He looked pretty good in their preseason game, better than Petty actually. It appears Jake Heaps is not considered a serious prospect, since he got no playing time, so if we trade for Barkley we can let him compete with Petty, and whoever wins that competition could be our QB of the future. As important as the QB position obviously is, I'd trade a 4th or 5th rounder for him (4th probably too high, but 5th might get the deal done).
