a 2nd rounder for Chris Brown??? O God NOOOOO... He really hasnt done anything significant in the league at all. Heck, D-Block, Houston, and Washington might be better than him.

The one thing everyone forgets about this 2nd Round pick we're talking about... we don't even know the value of it yet (where it falls in that round). Suppose the Deadskins get handily scalped this year and wind up, say 5-11? That puts the value of that 2nd Rounder pretty high come April, and we will have pissed it away on someone else's recycled reject (who now has to also take up Cap room).

The NFC East being what it is now, the Deadskins are going to have their hands full in 6 games right off the bat. There's a very good chance our 2nd Round pick has great positioning. No way is Tangini gonna give that up for a retread.

Stop second guessing the FO:wink: . IMO they made all the right decisions in the draft. Our OL had to be revamped. A good OL can make an average RB look good. I don’t want to hear from the soothsayers about a bad draft if we don’t break 500 this year. It's going to take two years to become contenders! Don't give away a second round pick for a RB. :jets:

I would'nt make any moves as of now, but do we feel we made a mistake. Addai would've been nice. We got rid of Mawae and though Im a huge Mangold fan and love O-line it looks like we're going to get stuck in that Adrian Murrell period and the future could be bad. We are going through QB's left and right like in that period with a decent RB. I just hope Addai turns out to be a bust because this could hurt.

    That would be excellent!!

Although, Major Hochstetter tried that like a hundred times on Hogan's Heroes, but it never seemed to work out for him. I'm kind of picturing a big, fat, Shultz-like security guard working in the Jets front office, and Dave Hutchinson bribing him with candy bars from his Red Cross packages.

Herm's group was Deep Jet? Connect the dots, the leaks were all negative pieces about Herm Edwards, John Abraham, Kevin Mawae, Jason Fabini.... The leaks were from Tannebaum's office. As soon as Herm left, they started in on Bradway, Hemeridnger, and Doug Marrone.

So, your point is, the leaks are from Tannenbaum himself? This is what you are saying? By "connecting the dots," you're implying the leak is still with Mike T, even to this moment?

No, that's the whole point of "Deep Jet" - there was NEVER anything negative about Herm. There was never anything positive about Herm, either. It was all peripheral crap about Bollinger, Abraham, Woody. I think that's one of the reasons why people suspected Herm. It was conspicuously strange that Deep Jet never had anything - good or bad - to say about Herm, but he would tear into others with ease.

Maybe Birdbrain Boobway shouldn't have signed him until the END of the 2009 season. Huge cap hit, here we come.

Beginning to see what you guys mean. Rajensen088 makes an outrageous statement, then leaves. When questioned, he doesn't return to the same thread, but returns to the board days later in another thread, to make another outrageous statement that he can't defend, then he leaves again...

    Worthless to even reply...

I told you.... he never comes back when you own him, calling his SB. guy isn't worth a keystroke.... at least CJ is funny.

Why would Tannenbaum leak this, it would just raise the price of any RB he wanted to acquire.

I agree completely. Let's see if Houston/Blaylock/Washington/Askew have anything to offer. The OL is the key to the running game anyway. Besides, who really thought Martin had anything left beyond this year. It's time to move on. The Pats won the SB with Antwoin Smith and Kevin Faulk. The Jets had one of the top running games in the NFL in 1981 with Mike Augustinyak, Scott Dierking, Kevin Long, Freeman McNeil, and Bruce Harper all sharing carries.

It's a rebuilding year. Don't give up draft picks for someone else's trash. Draft a back next year on the first day if the current crop doesn't pan out. I wouldn't give up McCareins either. He will rebound and the Jets don't have the depth at WR to give him up.

We'll be fine without martin, we have 3 quality backs to fill in the job.

It's obvious that Mangini and Tanny have a plan in rebuilding this franchise. They want to get a good gauge of the talent we already have on the roster, and they realize that RB is one of the last positions you need to fill with a rebuilding team. Build from within the trenches, then plug in your elite ball carrier.

While I think it would be a terrible thing for Martin, who deserves to go out as the Hall of Famer he has been his whole career, I truly believe it is in the Jets best interest for him to never take another snap for this team. At this point, the Jets are not a "win now" team. Curtis Martin playing only does one thing...take carries away from other younger backs we need to look at to determine if they are going to be part of this team in the future. I think Chris Brown is OK, but has had trouble staying healthy...so I would not trade for him. I think we are better off seeing what we have in the remaining three. If none of them distinguishes himself as a feature back, we draft an RB next season. I love you Curtis, but it is time for this team to move on.

The leaker in the Jet's organization never had anything negative to say about Bradway either. I kind of figured it was somebody in the Bradway/Edwards axis who had access to both of them and put stuff out when both of them were annoyed at something.

Examples being the negative Woody stories right after he over-reacted to the Jet's bad start after Chad broke his wrist and the negative Abraham stories at the end of 2004 when he was pansy-assing around the clubhouse doing his "maybe-I'll-play-and-maybe-I-won't" routine about the playoffs.

If it was that axis and the leaks are continuing now that Herm is gone the possible suspects (suspect?) have been narrowed down substantially.
