if the Mets lose today it won't have anything to do with similar elements repeating themselves in irrelevant dynamics such as win/loss patterns or free agency. the only similarities will be that the construction of this team was imply just as flawed this season as last year.
If the Mets win today and make the playoffs, I'll use an Eli Manning avatar for a week. but they won't...they're chokers
Awesome performance by Johan last night, it is nice to see a big money FA live up to his billing for the Mets. We need Ollie to give a similar performance today or for the O to explode, keep the game out of the hands of the bullpen.
Raining at Shea, so who knows when the game will start, espcially given the last-day-of-Shea ceremonies. I have a concert to go to at 4, so I guess I will have to find out later how things turn out. Evans batting fifth in the lineup? I know his OPS against lefties is .919, but that's still a lot of pressure for someone with a grand total of 107 major league at bats.
He's pummeled Olsen this year, going 6-for-10 with a double and a homer. With no Tatis to go to, I like the move.
TBS broadcast team for the biggest Mets game of the year has Brave announcer Chip Caray and Yankee-humping blowhard Tom Verducci. Fun.
Did somebody say Chip Caray? Well, here's some Harry Caray action-
This is going to be played almost in concert with the Brewers game. Getting started a little before, but a 20-25 minute gap instead of an hour plus.
