Lookit. I hope you are right. I didn't mean to tbe negative. GOD! pheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew! Shhhhhhhhuit! Man, try hanging out with Falcons fans, telling you how rought they got it! damn, it's been a bad day. $
I can think of 28 million reasons. Unless you're suggesting his rookie contract in 2010 would have been worth more than what the Jets gave him? From the Jets standpoint we'd have all been better off if they just did what they said they were going to all summer and ran the ball into the ground instead of relying on him to beat teams, which he clearly is not capable of at this point. Let's get real here, he's having the typical "not Peyton Manning" rooke season for a QB. John Elway looked every bit as bad as Sanchez has as a rookie and the Broncos didn't even ask him to start right out of the box. And they had a better team than the one that Sanchez is working with. You can look all of the above up and verify if you need to. Even Peyton Manning lost several games that his team shouldn't have his rookie season. He lost to the 30th ranked pass defense on the last weekend of the season, throwing several picks in the process. I believe the problem that we've had all along has been Brian Schottenheimer's inability to deal with the fact that he had a raw rookie at QB. His gameplans and psychotic breaks with reality all season in the play calls don't look like those you'd put forward with fresh meat at QB. They look like what you'd put forward if you were desperate to finally get a real head coach interview and felt you needed to burnish your credentials some more before that would happen.
hes got to be made to feel accountable!....and he is NOT progressing in general..."flashes" of brilliance dont make up for 2 picks that should NEVER have happened after that 1st bullshit throw/pick6 BENCH HIS ASS....instead of rubbing his back and supporting shit play
Seriously guys fuck everything else..... Sanchez is our future at least for the next few years, the whole point of the thread was to debate whether his continued putrid play at the QB position, will actually help him mature or not. I would much rather see what Clemens or Ainge have then potentially ruin Sanchez. Some QBs are fragile, hell look at VY this year or even Alex Smith, benching them for a year or two, wont kill em. I am rooting for the kid as hard as the next guy, i just want our coaching staff to do what is best for the team and the kid, and let him sit out a game or two, and let him learn a lesson. We can't keep pretending that he hasn't lost us several games this season.
This is the most valid opinion i've read on the board today......I'm totally on board with that conspiracy theory....good call.
Yeah! He's ruining our chances at winning a Super Bowl this year! You guys need to get a fucking grip. He's our starter, that's it. It doesn't help ANYBODY to bench him. Sit down, shut the fuck up and prepare for the future.

Sanchez has shown flashes of brilliance but he has made the same mistakes repeatedly. The Bills game he was just throwing the ball up for grabs and again today, he chose to do that from deep in his own end. He needs to learn that not every play has to be positive yardage. One thing he has learned. Not to pout about it on the sidelines. That goes a long way in his maturation. I think he'll be fine long term but this is going to be a tough year to get through.
I think that will help a lot. It seems that Shotty is setting Sanchez up to fail on occasion. Although a horrible decision not to throw it away, why are they calling that play deep in their own end with 3 picks already. Run and punt the ball out. The defense was playing well and would most likely have held them.
Thank God, I'm not the only hot headed drunk here! Mark "Pick 6" Sanchez really needs to get benched! He's paid his dues, now he needs to watch some vets. Seriously, what have we got to lose at this point?
Ummm... What vets? Ainge isn't a vet, and neither is Clemens (considering how many games he played). If we actually had a vet I could understand people saying bench him. But what is he going to learn by watching Kellen suck? He just needs to take his licks this year and learn from his many mistakes. Chill out people. I still think Sanchez has potential and would rather see him in there than our "vets" as you call them.
I've been complaining about Shotty for a few years now. I just don't like his style of play calling. His plays are mediocre and there is no variety. Its either run up the middle with Jones or a pass to either Cotchery, Edwards, or Keller with the occasional toss to Clowny. How hard is that to defend?
We could see Kellen Clemens come in and complete 57% of his passes for an even TD to INT ratio and a a 73.4 QB rating. We could easily go 1-5 down the stretch with that kind of performance, maybe 2-4 with a little luck, and have a lousy QB controversy on our hands. If Mark Sanchez is not the Jets QB for the next half decade at least we are totally screwed. We gave up picks for him and then we gave up a bunch more picks to prop the season and so far none of those gambles have worked out particularly well. If we lose the main gamble on Sanchez we're going to watch some really bad Jets teams over the next few years. Kellen Clemens hasn't given any indication he's going to be any better than Sanchez so far. In fact he was a worse prospect coming out of college and we've all seen him struggle repeatedly both in season and in training camp to prove he is an NFL QB, let alone a starter. If the Jets actually had another good prospect on the roster, somebody who was not pre-failed as Clemens is, then maybe it would make sense to try him out now. Of course if they had that they would not have drafted Sanchez.
Quick question? Who is working with Sanchez? We don't have a veteran QB to help him learn. I feel he has to learn it all by himself with no one to mentor him. I say if Pennington's career is done we should hire him as a QB coach LOL. At least he is a pretty decent QB who could teach Sanchez how to read defenses and what not.
I'm pretty sure Schotty was a QB's coach in SD when his father was running the team and when Brees came in. So I may be wrong, but he seemed to have helped Brees a bit in his development, he was good in SD, real good, but underrated. Sanchez's failures are on the playcalling which is also Schotty's fault, this gets me angry because having Schotty with us made me happy, when we drafted Sanchez, because I thought he would help him develop well. I'll go ahead and say that OK he has a job to do being the OC, he isn't the QB's coach but he should stop being fucking stubborn and try to force Sanchez to be great, He should understand by now it isn't going to work this way. The team is obviously not ready to win now, so WTF!!!!! In the one hand I'm having high hopes for Sanchez but in the second I'm terrified of fucking up his growth and ultimately dooming ourselves, man I hate being in love with the Jets. Sorry if this was sloppy, I'm agitated and type how I speak, like a ranting asshole.
i try not to talk too much about sancheese as you all know my background with him. however i have to agree with abdul salaam and tommy green he is not playing well and has not shown a ton of progression this year as a whole. it really frustrates me that he refuses to take care of the ball and continues fumbling.
