Never say never in the NFL. Again, I'll bring up Eli Manning. You probably said the same thing about him after his 3rd year. Because we aren't all stupid idiots that want instant gratification. Sanchez only has 3 seasons and has shown flashes of greatness. Why are you so against giving him another year in a new system? Glad you are not in the majority of Jet fans, because according to polls on here most people want to stick with Sanchez. You need to understand that we don't need an elite QB with the defense we have. I still insist he could become elite. Eli Manning, hello? Give the kid a chance in an easier system with a working offensive line and we'll really see what he can do. He did struggle at times this year, but you have to admit the rest of the offense wasn't helping. You can't sacrifice the rest of the team to bring in a quick fix QB. It will cripple us, as we'll have to cut a lot of people, namely Revis. I'd much rather see the Jets draft a QB and let him develop. We've invested a lot in him, it would be stupid to ditch him at this point. No more Schotty means a more logical offense, and I like that. No more jumping through hoops to get a play off. If Sanchez craps it up next year, I'll agree with you that its time to move on, but judging him based on mostly the last 3 games of last season is silly. He still threw a lot of TDs this year, but the offensive line impeded his progress by getting him rattled and eventually hurt. Yes he made mistakes, but who didn't?
Ftr I didn't mean to say, and apologize if it came out that way, that it is impossible for a poster to come here and use terms like "never" or "it's a certainty" and not believe and mean what they say. But of course since we all know the future has variables that make prediction a difficult exercise, I think we all pretty much understand that we normally deal with probabilities rather than absolute certainties. I merely meant to say most times I see someone here stake out a rhetorical position and go on to say things like "never" and "certainly" that it makes more sense to understand them as really saying "probably won't happen" or "probably gonna happen>'
Not really a shocker, just facts and %'s to back up what the ones of us that aren't in denial already know. But never the less a good read.
