Some people really know how to Pee on the MARIO IS GOD thread....<g>

Hey - For the past 2 months even NFL: front offices have changed their boards up dramatically - Interviews ESPECIALLY INTERVIEWS, combines and post season games DO matter somewhat but, i understand those who have seen these guys play every down need to preach to the rest of us how they are above and beyond even NFL front offices and had this all figured out in January......

But.. Again, It's my opinion that this is one of the better drafts in years and all the players we have to choose from are real good and we're going to be happy - It's not like we're about to spend 3 picks on a Dewayne Robertson - Worst thing that can happen is the guy is a bust and we spend ONE pick.....

I like All the players we have to choose from...

It's my opinion though that Mangini would love to build this team just like they did in NE and that starts with a versitile Big and Fast DE inthe Richard Seymour mold.... There's just so much you can do with a player like that....
And for the life of me, I can't see why people don't see a difference in their game between John Abraham and Mario Williams.

How many different times is this now that Ferguson has been your favorite prospect in the draft, 6,329,549,124? Want to change again? Or have you just changed within the past seven seconds?

The Williams comparison is fine, but why Gallery? He hasn't been able to play the left side yet because there is already a veteran there who is a better fit on the left side than Gallery. There is no reason not to think Gallery can still be an elite tackle.

What you fail to realize is that Jones should have never been dominating, or playing great at any point last year. He had one year of experience at LT in college, was raw coming out, and needed 2-3 years of development before he could become a very good LT, which is what he can be. The fact that he played average last year despite it being a year too early for him to be starting, and playing next to Jonathan Goodwin, speaks volumes about what he can develop into.

If you knew what we were getting with Jones at the time, then you would know why he should and (hopefully) will get his chance to be the starting LT. If you're judging him based on one year at LT, when he was playing there one year earlier than he really should have been, and had an awful guard next to him, then you obviously have no clue.

Besides, you don't invest the #4 overall pick into a tackle like Ferguson. Yes, he's great in pass-protection. But he is lean (don't give me the added weight crap, Jonathan_Vilma said it best yesterday when he said that this is not playing weight, more off-season and gym weight,) and is mediocre when it comes to picking up a bull-rush, and is a bad run blocker. He is the top tackle in a deep class that lacks a definite, prototype LT like Jones, Pace, Ogden, Gallery, etc.

great point, IMO Adrian Jones and Ferguson have the same pro's and con's and Ferguson is more promising.

but thats not enough for me to want him at 4..........thats just me.

As I see it D-brick, Lienart, and Bush will allready be taken. I see Williams being our man.

then, if we acquire two or three OL who are capable of starting and performing well, Jones - as you've stated - will have a lot of success.

therefore, both Jones and the overall OL, can be good even without drafting Brick.

like i previously said -- either way, the Staff will improve the OL this Offseason. but what sounds better: Brick and an improved OL or Mario and an improved OL? I have to go with the latter.

    cheers
