andy phillips, part of the mets plan to prove that you can indeed do worse then delgado and castillo at 1st/2nd
lets face some facts here, manuel has pulled reyes, stood up for beltran, and BENCHED wright, a complete opposite from randolph, b.t.w, cmon A's tonight, lets get this to 3 games
not in the sense that you mean it. does he pull or bench delgado or castillo when they dog it in the field or flail weakly at the plate 4 times a game? why would he "punish" the few good players on the team while letting the dogs slide?
Agree on Beltran, but he was protecting Reyes who has a history of tight hamstrings, and Wright was merely given an overdue day off. That's not a pulling or benching. Save those words for describing what Hodges did to Cleon, or Billy Martin/Reggie, as punishment for dogging it. How are the A's doing?
4-0 philli top 7, i maybe stretching it a little bit w/wright, but for reyes, when a player says there 'ok' they dont get pulled
I understand that he's proven nothing at the ML level, but shouldn't we be giving Val Pascucci from AAA a shot? The guy is burning lefties at the stake down there (something like a 1.330 OPS vs. LHP). It's worth giving him a shot over this Phillips scrub.
A day late, but Phils did lose to the A's today, the 9th in their last 11 games. Mets are amazingly only 3 1/2 games out.
