A less scrupulous mind might use this as an example of the Jets getting the most out of those players.

I totally get where you're coming from and my long winded post could probably be boiled down to this for clarity...don't overpay anyone on this team who's talent/position value don't require it and I would suggest a safety doesn't require it...especially because we'd be overpaying due to his rating compared to the rest of the um, talent (cough cough), on the Jets vs. how talented he actually is compared to the norm. But if he's willing to take a fair deal compared to his position/talent, I'm all for retaining him.

You resign a guy like Marcus Maye. Decisions are not made without consequence and these players are human beings. Maye is a guy everyone on that defense looks up to and what do they see? An organization with poor values.

Its the same thing with forcing Jamison Crowder to take a paycut for no reason.... now he's "hurt" gee I wonder why

It is not just those 2 guys it goes back years. There's a reason why the Jets always have to overpay in free agency to sign anyone. Why players are filing injury grievances. Why homegrown players never sign on a hometown discount, etc. There is no hometown discount because there is no hometown loyalty & trust.

If the Jets showed a little respect and didn't dick around with Marcus Maye, his agent wouldn't be tweeting about the trade deadline. You get what you deserve

Well, you could include Darnold and Bridgewater as well to be fair about it. Maye will succeed once out of New York. Anderson with his 5 catches is still better than Cory Davis and Jamal Adams would still be starting for the Jets too.

Bridgewater was traded to the saints where he did nothing before signing with Denver where he now looks the part. Darnold is still an extremely large question mark.

And technically Corey Davis is having a more successful year than Anderson with more catches, more yardage, and more TDs in an absolutely anemic offense. Jamal Adams, while he had a good year in sacks last season, has already held out, signed a massive deal, and has produced absolutely nothing in 2021

anderson is kinda on a stacked offense too though. with c-mac, moore, and marshall jr and dan arnold before they traded him.

Dan Arnold's on his fourth team in four years and Marshall's a rookie. I'm not saying this for or against Anderson's production, but the idea that they're stacked and including those two guys is ridiculous.

I only say this because after the Thursday Night stubble twins have jerked each other off about Dan Arnold for back to back weeks now and it's getting absurd.

I didn’t notice a lot from him. He played 38 snaps yesterday and he basically split time with Jarrod Wilson. I saw Wilson pop a bit but Davis had 3 tackles. I’d say it’s a positive especially his first game action and he did leave the game early but came back to finish.

This has to be great for Maye's trade value. Someone ask his agent what he thinks.

Almost all of Jets Twitter is retweeting the article and tagging Erik Burkhardt; it's hilarious.

Yeah that ankle injury was a bunch of bullshit. Now it makes more sense but I'm actually shocked this has been hidden since then.

His agent had to know about the pending charges right? Why would you flap your trap if you knew this was hanging over your clients head?

Suspend him the next two games. That's a fair penalty.

Maybe that’s why Maye hasn’t been offered a huge contract or sought after via trade.
