Didn't they only throw like 16 passes?

The only time Jake has ever looked bad so far in his career was opening day last year against the Falcons. He got embarrassed by John Abraham on one play.

Didn't Gholston have only 1 sack against Long in college? I don't remember

Before the opening day game as rookies, I remember the experts kept saying Gholston should have success against Long. I never understood why

true, but if you watch the game, Jake pretty much neutralized Allen on any given play they matched up

I guess some of you guys watched the MIA-MIN game...

I'm only going off statistics, but it looks like Jared Allen got a sack? What's with all the "Allen did nothing!" talk?

It shouldn't have been a sack but that is what they will call it.

Henne was tucking the ball and starting to run past the line of scrimmage between the left tackle and guard when Jared Allen reached out beside him and tackled him - call it a sack i guess.

otherwise, the majority of Allen's day consisted of staring at a giant pair of 7s

His last game against Michigan was a career game for him. I think he had at least 3 sacks and there was one against Long that was highlight reel material. Truthfully, if not for that game Gholston probably doesn't get drafted until the second or third round.

If there was one Dolphin I could choose to miss next week's game it would have to be Jake Long.

So... um... Jared Allen tackled Chad Henne behind the line of scrimmage... and they called it a sack...

I am outraged on your behalf!

I would say it was either at the line of scrimmage or should've been marked for a minimal gain ... but it's whatever. I'm tryin to find a video but I am not having any luck.

however the point remains ... Allen was a non-factor!

something they brought up after the game though ... i think Allen had 15 sacks or so last year ... 7.5 came against the packers, so he only got 6.5 the other 14 games

    Now hold on, guy...

Are you arguing that Jake Long did a great job against one of the league's premier sackers, or that Jared Allen is overrated and actually just mediocre?

Two different arguments, I'm sure you can see.

haha i know ... I'm just sayin that maybe Allen isn't as good as he is protrayed to be.

BUT MAKE NO MISTAKE just like you guys are confident in Revis vs any top WR in the league, i'd feel comfortable with Jake Long going against Julius Peppers, or any other premier pass rusher.

Fair enough. You're right, that Jake Long is a solid tackle.

didn't JTs sack come around the end as a LB and not past the LT?

The LT was tied up with Ellis I think..

I saw the sack Brick gave up and he did not really get beat one on one. Slauson took his man outside, in front of Brick, and therefore the guy Brick was blocking had the distance of 2 men in between himself and D'Brickashaw. He moved towards the hole Slauson left and Brick was not able to fill it in time....at the same time, Mark moved up in the pocket, right into the d-lineman's path.
