I think this is very true. The only caveat being that he has to admit his suckage to this point, particularly in the gameday adjustments.
But with that talent, we shouldn't be losing to OAKLAND, SF, SEATTLE, or getting blown out by DENVER or SAN DIEGO, or needing J.P. Loseman to fumble the ball to beat BUFFALO in the 1st place. We shouldn't be 9-6, after starting 8-3, in the 1st place!
With all the talent we have on the roster Brett Favre Thomas Jones Leon Washington Laveranues Coles Jerricho Cotchery D'Brick Alan Faneca Kris Jenkins Calvin Pace David Harris Vernon Gholston Eric Barton Kerry Rhodes Darelle Revis Abram Elam Jay Feeley We should not be 10-6. That's a talent of a 13-3 team and a division winner at least!
I agree that a new HC might be a temporary set back but what does another season do for us? The talent and situation was there this year and bad coaching blew it. There is no reason to believe that he will suddenly become a good coach in the next 6 month.
You can't be serious? Gholston? Elam? This season falls on Favre's 7 horrible games. 4 td's and 13 picks in those 7 games led to 6 losses. The Dolphins only have 12 turnovers in 15 games!
We picked gholston for our 1st rounder for a reason, Mangini just didn't use his talent well........................................... Elam has been making plays this year. And this is coming from a person named after a player that never panned out, and would be lucky to be in a practice squad of an NFL team...
But dude, most of those guys will be here next year also. With a good off-season, we might be even better.
Totally agree with the essence of your post and I'm usually one for saying give the current HC a decent length of time to make a difference but it's the manner of this collapse that has alarmed fans and really highlighted Mangini's inadequacies. We didn't just lose to the likes of Denver, SF and Seattle but all losses were by fairly big margins and we were limp in all three games. There's no spark. If fans could see that the team were competing but getting beaten despite playing well they'd be annoyed but perhaps not so desperate for a change of regime.
In my eyes, Favres done more wrong for this team, than Mangini... We should never have brought him here, this was Chads year, not Bretts.
This is the reason, franchises go down every year!! He got us in the play-offs once and we've had a great comeback year this year. We came from 4-12?? Let's switch coach again and go to a 4-3 and then have two losing seasons again and waive a lot of draft picks away, and then the same people are shouting again that the coach has to go???? Mid-season we we're a superbowl contender!! and know the players aren't hitting like mid season they lost their spark, and I think that's why we're losing games!! If we fire Mangini we're going to be just like the Raiders and those guys are idiots!!
Another brilliant coaching performance to wrap up a spectacular stretch run... Tell all your friends to sign the petition! MANGINI MUST GO!
You forgot the 4-12 last year. Also this team winning anyless than 12 games is a farce plain and simple. People who make pathedic excuses for a pathedic team. Now thats a fucking joke! Lets just call it what it is. Walks like a shitty team, talks like a shitty team, Smells like a shitty team!
You mean like Sparano, Harbaugh, and Smith have set their organizations back? Plus, we easily have more talent than Miami and the Falcons do, so a new coach isn't coming into a situation where the cupboards are bare. Whatever, get the ball boy out of here...
Mangini did the same exact thing in his first season that Sprano did this season. Same exact thing and no doubt Miami will take a step back cause they aren't any good.
Mangini is doing his usual boring job as I write this... Blaming this that and the other thing. It's never his fault, of course. He looks like he's about to break out crying! I just signed the petition. Thank you, Petrozza!
Mangini did the same thing in his first season with the Jets remember?? He got us in the play-offs! Let's see how these 3 are doing next year? Harbaugh didn't rebuild at all, the Ravens was a good team all the time, they only slipped to 5-11 in 2007 but the team was never bad!
