OK maybe saying cut him right this second is exaggerating, but he should not be allowed in the facility today. If Geno and Petty get healthy, then cut Fitz. It will send a message, no matter how much money you are making, if you are a detriment to the team GTFO.

Something fishy is going on behind the scenes. Namath is talking to the press that Geno wasn't really hurt.

What I heard on the radio this morning is that he was saying to people that if Smith was healthy enough to be standing on the sidelines he should be back in the game, which is just utterly moronic. I will always love Joe for January 12, 1969, but IMO at this point he needs to sit down and shut up.

It's not an exaggeration, if a player wants to push the envelope and call out the CS he can maybe get away with a 1 game suspension or inactivity.

The one person who is untouchable is the guy who signs the checks and makes it possible for you to provide for your family.

While Woody may seem like a dumb owner to us as fans, he does not seem to be the type of owner who treats his employees poorly.

Calling out the owner is a fireable offense.

They should cut him after they find out Geno is healthy. I exaggerated because I thought they should just cut him right now, but Jets need a little security in the health department. Might not be a good idea to cut Fitz right away until you know Geno is healthy and ready to play. Can't throw Petty out there right this second. Definitely with you here though, keeping him sends the wrong message.

Start Geno if he can play. Crypatrick can take a seat.

Hopefully we get Petty some reps in this year.

No surprise that Mehta et al are defending Fitz. When a team goes one and five in a quartetback centered league how can anyone who know even a little about the game write that it's not at least 70 plus % on him? Have they been watching at all?

Nope......that's what he wants. Park his ass in street cloths and make him show up every day. Make his life miserable for the rest of the season. As long as they keep winning he won't be able to divide the locker room, but if they start losing again............they might have to cut him or play him.

Mehta is an idiot. Worst "journalist" I have ever seen. Biased as hell, transparent as Saran Wrap, and if he doesn't get a story handed to him he just makes shit up. I don't even read his shit anymore.

You're probably right, it's just such an uncharacteristic thing for somebody to say, especially a guy like Fitz. I'm thinking there is some bad vibes over Geno carrying on on the sidelines to get into the game and Fitz has lost it with the coaching staff. Nothing really makes any sense.

    Where my Geno lovers at?

Lets roll with Geno the rest of the way, Fitzpatricks ego should not even be in the same zone as any other qb in the league. No need to ser what else is there in fitzpatrick. We have mediocrity everywhere. Lets see what geno can show

Today is "bash the jets" day on the radio. All I'm hearing is bitching and whining about Fitz. Everybody was piling on. Regardless of what you believe, he came in and lead the team to a win yesterday. He's better than Geno. The way Geno hurt himself yesterday was typical poor pocket awareness that we have seen from him before. He can't throw the ball away. Geno's injury was a blessing in disguise. His 1 TD was kind of a fluke that would never happen against a decent team. The season isn't over yet. The Jets should stick with Fitz at this point, until they lose again.

Releasing him now, when his contract is fully guaranteed, is not smart. Yesterday they were one injury away from Bilal Powell being the Jets QB. You have to at least keep him as a backup, even if they decide not to start him.

Yeah, that move made no sense at all. Very similar to some Bowles decisions over the last year and change. You can't risk giving the ball to the other team at midfield when a FG wins it. Pin them near their own endzone and it's still a game.

Holy shit thank you, I thought I was literally the only one. I mean Geno was same old Geno yesterday getting sacked, not reading defenses, and they were losing to that crap team when he left the game. Fitz comes in, they take the lead and go on to win the game. What am I missing? After the game he says he is pissed off that he was benched. So what, who wouldn't be? I think between Fitz and Geno, Fitz still gives you the better shot to win. So he should start until tey are mathematically out, and then let Petty take over.
