Just rewatched it, Sanchez had no intention of throwing that ball he went back pump faked and ran straight up the middle. If he didn't wait and make the fake and went immediately he's in for the score.

You sure? The announcer even mentioned no one was open and he ran to avoid a sack.

Never mind that the Dolphins have allowed the third fewest yards rushing this season but are middle of the pack against the pass. Never mind that we had only rushed for 127 yards as a team. Greene had been ineffective, Jones was up to 27 carriers and legs probably abit tired at that point. Only thing I would have done differently is run a play action.

Was the OC brilliant at the end? NO, but to say the OC lost the game for us is pure Hyperboyle. 21 points on Kick returns and fumble returns for Miami. The dolphins had 101 yards total offense, 101 yards. This game should have been 25-10.

I don't know if we can really say what his intentions were unless he says it. All I know is, he dropped back, the WR's were running routes, he went to take off up the middle, and got caught.

If you think it was a designed draw, then fine. But that's an even dumber call because if yer gonna run it, why run it with the QB? Give it to Jones or Greene and let them pound it.

There are about 30 reasons why we should have won that game.

    Edit: What else is new?

Dolphins win again!!! J E T S Suck Suck Suck!!! Ahahahahahaaaaa
We had the worse game plan in history, total disruption this week with our receivers, two cbs starting first time ever together and no Crowder and we still won!
Jets implode as usual. Undefeated year? OK

Has anyone considered that the Jets were only in the game because of Schotty's second half offense? You want to nitpick on the 2nd and 6, then fine, but let's not crucify the guy.

Jones had already rushed for over 100 yards and was averaging 3.8 ypc. Those are solid numbers against one of the best run defenses in the league.

Yeah, yer WRs and CBs have a lot to do with the Wildcat gameplan. Rex figured it out and shut it the fuck down.

You can only go by numbers so much. You have to look at their personnel. They were playing all pass that whole drive. We should ran the ball and gave Sanchez a much more reasonable 3rd down. Its really hard to do much from the 8 yard line with 7 guys all in the middle of the field.

Agree-- for the 1st time this season-- that the offensive playcalling in the 1st half and last series was atrocious. But to place this on anyone but the ST's is ludicrus. Offense puts up 20 (-2 for coaching; -7 for FR TD). Defense holds them to 10. That's a 20-10 win without the 14-0 special teams points.

This game goes to show that this team will break your heart some way, some how, in the most painful way possible.

Painful that it spoiled a great game by Feely, Ellis, Harris (Dline in general). a 7-9/ 9-7 season never felt so painful as being 3 plays away from 7-1 (but also 2-6).

I think this game was all about two fat coaches trying to protect their young QB's. In our case the Dolphins have one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL and we should have put the ball in the air early and often and not let them hang around. We let them hang around and they made the plays on special teams. This game is a blowout if we attack on O through the air. We did it game one, it's on the film of every team they play and instead we crank up the big run game and don't score points let them hang around and they killed us on specials.

You can second guess the runs at the end the fact is our big run game didn't put points on the board our rookie QB did. We waited to long.

And ironically, he ran it in for one score.

I don't think the 2nd down run by Sanchez was a draw. If you look at him as he drops back he is scanning the field for targets and then he cuts up to the left and tries to run with it.

If he was on a draw he would have looked nowhere but at the middle of the field, just trying to see where the linebackers and the safeties were before he took off. He'd have taken off a second earlier also. You drop back three steps and then run up in the pocket immediately on a QB draw. Also the Jets offensive line was not blocking the way you block a QB draw, they weren't doing everything they could to push the defensive linemen outside - they were engaged with them instead in normal pass protection.

Sanchez isn't the problem, he is the solution. It's going to take some time. It sucks to lose to Miami like that but lets face it without Sanchez Miami blows us out twice.
